Just bought a Voodoo3 3000 AGP - unable to use it!

Hey guys,

I just bout an AGP Voodoo3 3000, but unfortunately my mobo only supports AGP 4x so I can't use it.

I was wondering if anyone would be willing to trade me for one I could use?  I have some other gfx cards if anyone's interested.

What do you want to trade for? A V3 3K PCI? Or another motherboard?

Another Voodoo card.  I don't particularly mind what it is, as long as it's V3 or higher.  I'd love a V5, but I don't think that's gonna happen...

Hey, d'you think I could use my existing AGP card with an older Voodoo linked up like they used to be with the 2D cards?

nope,no pass-through functionality is available with v3 and higher cards, they will work as additional (secondary) standalone display cards..

No, I meant if I got an older one.  Like a V2.

ah,I see..yes,you should be able to add a voodoo2 to your current vga card and link them with the pass-through cable, that would also allow you to use the cards as needed without switching your monitor cable around..note that your motherboard must be compatible-I had stability issues when running a voodoo2 on an amd k7/k8 system.intel should be fine all the way up to core duo2.maybe you could post your full system specs?

Sure.

Pentuim 4 1.5GHz
512MB RAM
MS Windows ME
TriGem Dublin mobo (It's Intel 845G-based I believe if that helps at all.  It has the latest BIOS revision and chipset drivers)
128MB nVidia GeForce FX 5200 (The FX series was actually designed by the old 3dfx team!)

That's the gist of it.  If you need any more, just ask.
