Ok, I've got the X850 Pro card in my machine. I've also got three 80 gig drives in it. Two are RAID 0 for XP, the other I have Vista installed on it. I unplugged the Raid drives, installed RC1 of Vista on the other drive and installed ATI's Beta drivers for it. Everything was running pretty smooth. Actually was able to install and play CoD 2 on it through Vista and didn't have any hiccups. That was Thursday night. Friday morning, wake up and check email, and I have all these little red and blue dots all over the screen. I turn it off, plug in the raid drives and boot up XP. Same thing. Now this is the card that I've OC'ed once to see what max settings are and I haven't OC'ed it since because the cooler I bought for it just came in the mail on Tuesday and I haven't had time to put it on it yet (Arctic Cooling ATI Silencer 5 - Rev 2.0). It was working just fine Wednesday and Thursday night before I installed Vista though. I have tried reseating the card but still the same thing. Could the drivers from Vista have screwed something on the card? I wouldn't think that it would since it's software based, but it does have direct access to what the card settings are so I don't know. Any ideas? I haven't uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers in XP yet but I don't think it'll make a difference. I also have to look in the bios yet and see if it's showing up there. I'll post that result in a little bit.
Ok, just rebooted. Here's something strange. When it first boots up and I get the screen that says "hit delete to enter bios" I see the red and blue dots all over the page. When I'm actually in the bios, everything is clear. No little dots at all. From the main page looking like it does though, seems like it's a hardware problem for sure, but why the bios looks fine, I don't know.
Next question. Being that I did OC this thing once, if I RMA it, can ATI now that it was OC'ed? It's been at least two weeks since this was done and I haven't had any problems with it at all. Just weird why it was working fine under XP and working fine under Vista until I played CoD2 (was running fine in the game and after the game). Dot's didn't show up until the next morning.
