The Voodoo Rush is probably the card with the least amount of variations As to starting your collection; any card will do as long as it's Voodoo

The Single Planar Cards are on one, unified PCB (which made some Voodoo Rush Cards very long and big).

Dual Planar saves space by simply connecting the Voodoo1 Module as an independent PCB onto the 2D PCB.
(making the principle sandwich design look a little bit like a Quantum SB200 or a MP540 with Voodoo Module)

The Hercules Stingray 128/3D is AFAIK the only card that shipped in both versions.

Thanks FalconFly! So, in general, old 3dfx cards, when they come with box and manuals and CD, are good for collection and are becoming more and more hard to find, am I right?

To goriath: I'm looking for the exact same card you posted a picture of here (Vulcan 3D). But the one I saw hasn't got the heatsink! Who knows if the card actually comes with or without it? ???

I only have 2 "sealed" boxes myself, a 50SB-4440 and a Diamond Voodoo II with game pack both of which I have unboxed duplicates.

I do have a few that have been new and opened by me to verify contents but either are so common as to not make much of a difference IMHO (Creative Labs Banshee) or so rare as to not make a difference either (Hercules Stingray2 boxed SLI)

Who would turn down a boxed Stingray2 SLI because it wasn't "sealed"? No one I know.

I have six sealed boxes (5500 PCI, 4500 AGP, Evilking 3, Velocity 100, V3 3k AGP, Evilking 2) but i would never think about opening the boxes. Wink

Some cards of them are hard to find anyway, and sealed...hmmm Tongue

Some cards were made in both styles, some cards (i.e. the Gainward Banshee) were produced with three different heatsinks so I think both cards are original.
