Title: 3dfx Manufacturers & Resellers Post by NitroX infinity on 21.04.05 at 15:33:51
One of the nice positives of my list is that I get to know a wide range of companies which sold 3dfx products. Unfortunately, (I'm guessing) most of these are just resellers and didn't produce their own PCB's. I opened this topic to find out, with your help, which of the following companies are just plain resellers.
For those who don't know; Quote:
For those who think I'm missing a company, first look at the bottom of this page. Several companies had multiple names (they're marked with an *). Company names in orange are resellers. # 2the MAX 3DeMON 3Dfx A AccelGraphics Acorp Ad Lib MultiMedia Addonics Aisha Alliance Semi A-MAX Technology * Anubis AOpen Apac Multimedia Apollo Aristo Asus A-Trend Axle Aztech B Best Data Biostar Bo-Chan, STC C California Graphics Canopus Chaintech Chance CMC Colorgraphic ColorMaster Creative D Daiwa Sanko DataExpert Daytona DCS * Deltron DFI Diamond Multimedia Digital Research Dtec E Eclips 3D Elite Comp Sys Elsa Ensoniq EONtronics Evans & Sutherland Evate Express OA F Falcon Northwest Famous Tech Flagpoint Fountain Tech Full Link G Gainward * Gallant Garnet Gateway Genius Gericom Gigabyte G-Links * Guillemot H Hercules HighTech Suppliers * I I/O Magic InnoVision Incredible Technologies Intergraph Intergraphics * I-O Data ISD iXMicro J Jaton Jazz Multimedia Jetway Joymedia K Kadatco Kasan Koutech Kouwel * KTX L Leadtek Lucky Star M Mach Speed Macronix Magic Pro ManLi Matsonic Max II tech MAXi Meditech Megafame Melco Metabyte Micro Conversions Micron Microstep Group MIGA Mirage Miro Modular Tech MSI Multimedia Access N NIX O Oak Technology Omnicomp OPTi Inc. uhm A-Trend is Helios 3D, the brand is actually A-Trend Helios 3D ;)
But for the rest very impressive NitroX Infinity :D |

Actually, if I'm not mistaking, the company's name was A-Trend Corporation. Or something like that anyway. Check their cards; ATCxxxx :)
Helios 3D was the name of the cards they sold in the retail market. They also had cards which names started with VD and then some number. Those cards were OEM cards. Again, I'm not sure about this, but this is what I could gather from all my browsing. Too bad A-Trend isn't around anymore, would be a lot easier. |

Gainward = CardExpert = 2theMax

Are you sure? 'Cause Gainward has the Dragon 2000 and 2theMAX has the FantasyFX. If they're the same, then why different names for their cards?

Yup, I have boxed cards with identical boards. |

But the boxes are different?

One box is a 2theMax Voodoo 2, the other a Dragon. I was thinking at first that someone swapped a Dragon board into a 2theMax box till I notice the serial number on the video card matched the one on the box end. I also have a 2theMax Banshee that is the same as a Dragon Banshee. |

Then 2theMAX is a reseller.
Makes sense because they also had S3 Trio cards :) |
