Well i just got my voodoo4500 this morning, put it in the pc, and started benchmarking..
To my surprise, it was /actually slower/ than my voodoo3...
3dmark2001 Voodoo3 benchmark (1024*768*16bit); 1422 points
3dmark2001 Voodoo4 benchmark (1024*768*16bit*DXTC); 1356 points
The voodoo3 is clocked at 180mhz (made by STB, Siemens ram), and the voodoo4 clocked at 185mhz (hundai ram).
The same appeared in many of my games; Tactical Ops (UT based), DeusEx (also UT based), and Steam (DoD/HalfLife).
Is there something i'm doing wrong here?
EDITUh yes system specs;
Voodoo3: AmigaSport3 drivers, WinXPsp1a, DX9.0b
Voodoo4: AmigaMerlin3 drivers, WinXPsp1a, DX9.0b
Also iv'e noticed that Windows Plus! screen savers (robot circus and sand pendulum) work on the default voodoo4 driver that came with windows, but crash on amigamerlin3 drivers...
