Hypothetical questions

Some hypothetical questions related to this topic:
http://www.falconfly-central.de/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl?board=techtalk;action=displ...
1. What would a Voodoo 5 with 128MB RAM be called?
(5600/5700/5900?)
2. What would a Voodoo 5 with a modified PCB be called? (One chip on each side (effectively reducing the size of the board), 128MB RAM)
3. What would a Voodoo 5 'Daytona' be called? 5800?
And would the amount of RAM change that number?
If so, what would the following be called?
V5 Daytona 64MB / V5 Daytona 128MB / V5 Daytona 256MB / V5 Daytona 512MB

Maybe 5600S..

I guess 5800 with 128 DDR RAM, 5700 with 64 DDR RAM.

512? Don't you think it's too much for card like this?

Why would 512MB be too much? Would run Doom3 a lot better
Another question:
Is Daytona a native PCI card (Like Napalm) or is this the first native AGP card from 3dfx?

You have to refine your question a bit- The Banshee was an AGP part.
The VSA-100 was the first part that would do AGP x 4.
The 5500 doesn't do x 4 due to it's 2 chip design, I think it had something to do with winblows.

A Voodoo 5 (Napalm) or any 3dfx videocard for that matter runs at PCI66 or something like that.
Which means that the card is a native PCI card.
Was the Daytona also a native PCI card or was this a full-blown AGP card?

No- it means Windows doesn't support the dual chip setup in the proper AGP modes.
The Voodoo 4 is a AGP x 4 card, the V5 isn't for the above reason.

PCI slots run at 33 mhz
AGP slots run at a base mode of 66 mhz plus AGP modes if the card supports them.
The Quantum3D S-12 Obsidian2 AGPTV runs at 66 mhz bus compared to other Voodoo 2 cards =)

I was thinking, with all this talking of expanding memory on the V4/5 cards and a Dutch guy trying to mod his V2's;
Is there a chip that lets you control the speed of the graphics-chip and the memory seperately?

You mean like RadLinker for Radeons?
Not that I am aware of, by maybe someone else knows of such a 3dfx tool.

Nonono, not a tool! An actual chip that you can put on a PCB so that you can regulate the speed of the memory and graphicschips seperately. Sorta like the northbridge for motherboards with which you can control the speed of the CPU and the memory seperately.

Yeah, thats the problem, But The chip used will be very likely small, and it would just look like a lot of re-wiring. It wouldn't look good, but if it works it is okay.
