For the fun I used my V1 on a X2 4200+ based system without problem  Grin

But my 3dfx ring is based on a PII800EB, hoping to move to a Tualatin in few week.

I also successfully ran Diamond Monster II and V3 2000 PCI on a C2D combo (Asus P5K Deluxe + C2D 6420) - ran like a charm  Cool

I really never found a board that didn't run V2. I didnt try V1 on new HW though. Maybe its something about V1?

I had very little success running a v1 card in modern systems..and I was never able to get stable operation from v2SLI when running in newer amd based systems either (random glide lockups)..right now it seems like you need an intel chipset,or a small miracle to get it working Roll Eyes

do you guys have any more details on this? OSes,chipsets etc?

So I tried an EPoX 8KTA2 board with no success with a Diamond Monster3D or Pure3D card.

I have on order an ABiT LX6 with processor and ram.  That should be the board that works for me and my V1's.  It should be here late next week.  I also have a P3B-F board on order, but I won't see it until April.

To run on AMD systems you probably need an older driver/Glide version. Don't know which files should be older but somehow it is possible Smiley. I managed to run both the Voodoo Graphics as the Voodoo II (in SLI) using an AMD Athlon XP 1700+ @ 2533MHz with an nForce 2 (Which is totally overkill in CPU-terms of course).

I also ran V2 SLI on Abit NF7-S with a mobile Barton. At that time I used FastVoodoo2 XP V4.0 Gold Edition with some files from V3.5. I remember having trouble detecting SLI, but after tickling some DLL's I got the rig up and running.

Basically I think I installed V4.0 first, and when it didn't work I installed 3.5 which didnt work either. Then I installed 4.0 again, and I copied one DLL file from 3.5 (dont ask me which one, I am not sure, but I think it was glide2x.dll) over the new version and that did the trick.

As the matter affect, I think I posted somewhere in this forum what I exactly did...  Undecided

P.S. System was Win XP pro. I also had Win98 as a secondary system, but I dont remember having any problems in Win98.

I used FastVoodoo with a patch for the Gendac I/O error which you can find here. Well, if I remember correctly Tongue. Been a few years.

I bought an ABit LX6 and it came with a Celeron 400.  I had 256MB of PC133.  I installed and updated Win98SE and the same with all the hardware.

I installed UT 99 - GOTY version and amazingly it worked!   Kinda sluggish, but the video was rendering in 3dfx and no lockups or distortion!!!   Smiley

I will try getting some older games going like Whiplash and Descent I/II.
