Been there, done that... ::)

90% of the search that Google comes up with is "Price Comparison" sites... :P

Click on one of your Google links if you don't believe me! ;)

Note the mention of a familiar 3Dfx related workstation company we all know and love...Quantum3D! :o

Hmm...interesting! ;)

I'd sure like to see some proud owner put the card up head to head in the Quake3 timedemo against the Q3D 200 SB(i) or the X-24 and post the results here. Hint. Hint...

I will be doing some RIGOROUS benchmarks when this mofo of a board arrives in the post... 8)

...problem is I don't have the AGP-Pro equipped mainboard just yet... ::)

...and then there's RAM too (PC2100 512MB probably) :P

...not to mention at least a 400W PSU, this card EATS power!!! :o

I'll be sure to keep you all updated (even though its not 'really' 3Dfx...its related somehow!) ;)

And if you all thought the new NVidiot cards were HUMONGOUS taking up two card bays (one for the  card, one for the cooler) ::)

This sucka takes up THREE bays!!! :o

Bay one    - AGP Pro main card... ::)
Bay two    - PCI daughterboard... :o
Bay three  - Cooler output... :P

Here the link to the DL page for the manual of my card if anyone wants to read... ;)

http://content.3dlabs.com/manuals/WC4210_English.pdf

If you go and check the 3Dlabs website on their current range, their 'top of the line' for today's graphics market has...wait for it...640MB GFX RAM!!! :o :o

Holy pants Batman! :o

And here's the link to the ULTRA high end card of today! 8)

The Wildcat 800 Realizm - DROOL, SCHLORP, DRIBBLE! :o :o

UGH, this is proving to be a bit of a nightmare! :'(

The card is AGP Pro 110 (110 watt) :P

The only mainboard I can find that supports this is the following ::): -

Thunder K7X Pro (S2469) :o

http://www.tyan.com/products/html/thunderk7xpro.html

Also, the price is WAAAY too expensive for a student... :P

http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/ProductInfo.asp?WebProductID=73488

£266.13 (inc. VAT) :o

Does anyone know of any SINGLE CPU boards (preferably Athlon, but it doesn't matter really...) that have an AGP Pro 110 slot onboard? ???

If anyone finds anything...let me know! ;)

Well, after a LONG search...I might have just found what I'm looking for in the "Gigabyte GA-7DXR+" mainboard... ;D

And without all of the expensive HOO-HAH of dual processors...blah, blah... ::) :P

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=6773097869&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT

And here's the manual too... ;)

http://tw.giga-byte.com/Motherboard/Support/Manual/Manual_GA-7DXR+.htm

More news when it arrives... :D

==edit==

The deal for this motherboard fell though on eBay a LONG time ago... ::)

...turned out the seller could not accept Western Union money orders. :P

Anyhow, I have the ORIGINAL COMPAQ mainboard now - along with all the accompanying parts. ;D

When everything arrives, you can garuntee there will be LOTS of testing! 8)

I've got a Wildcat 4110 AGP Pro 50 here ;). Also from a Compaq computer.

Since I have no motherboard with AGP Pro I can't test the card  ::) . Maybe I'll get an AGP Pro motherboard someday  ;D
