Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by goriath on 28.03.10 at 00:59:47
I suppose you have tested them under win98; there is no support for Napalm cards?
|
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by oldskool on 28.03.10 at 16:59:55
Yep , I am running win98SE on my retrobox and the 3d glasses software went straight in, when I switched to a V3 card. When I installed the v5 some of the tabs where missing in the display properties tab so I couldnt set it to autodetect when running games or any other settings. It runs the metabyte wickedGL, eye3d and i-art software. I might try with the V5 later and switch the 3d-galsses option to on in the "3dfx tools".
Very cool results with the V3. 8-) |

They use the metabyte driver so I am looking for the 4.12 drivers which support v5!

I ordered it too. Waiting for the package :) I always wanted to play Glide games in stereo.
I also have an eDementional3D, but can't find Win98 drivers for that. |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by batracio on 27.06.10 at 15:03:26
I got it too. I have found several Metabyte WickedGL eyeSCREAM drivers up to 5.02, but can't find eyeSCREAM Pro for OpenGL with non-3dfx hardware. Does anyone have this?

Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by elfuego on 03.07.10 at 18:35:16
Is this worth the money and the trouble? Honestly please.
And do the eyes get tired after a while? What games have you tested it on? |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by elfuego on 05.07.10 at 22:26:36
Nvm - I ordered one for myself... Now about the drivers - where can I find the ones that work with Voodoo 5 ? Thanks! :)

I finaly got my pair, but it definitely wasnt new. The box is in shattering shape, the CD was used and glasses dont look as fresh either...
How was your package? Was it sealed? |

Nope... and mine aren't in mint condition as well, but box and bundle seems to be in good shape. |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by oldskool on 12.07.10 at 22:05:10
Mine was ok, looked like it had been on a wharehouse shelf for ten years but everything inside looked untouched. Not everything is sealed when new.

Thanks for the replies. I only wondered, since it was sold as *new* ;-)
I dont really care - as long as it works, Im not complaining. I've gotten a really good looking Sony trinitron 21" CRT today from the university (they are literally throwing them away) so I'm gonna be able to try out the whole bunch soon. :) |

Google is indeed my friend, but I keep hitting my head against a wall; I've been googling and googling but I always end up in a dead end (either non existent download, or some strange error message that google translate will not translate) :( Would you please upload the file via rapidshare or megaupload or similar please? Thanks in advance! :) |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by elfuego on 14.07.10 at 18:45:36
My best find was on 3dfx.it page and I got 4.11 driver. Looks like it works - now everything looks like in that Avatar movie :-)

Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by elfuego on 14.07.10 at 20:12:32
Well... I tested this on NFS2SE, NFS3 and UT99. Most important thing of all - FSAA doesnt work with Wicked3D :(
and then... NFS2 unfortunately looks terrible - playing in 640x480 interlaced without AA is just... :-X NFS3 on the other hand, looks a tad little bit better with resolution override 1024x768 and the effect is most notable when menu is over the game (not really that thrilling...) UT99 has no config file so the effect doesnt exist; but interlace is still there. What games have you tested this on? Is there any game at all that works like the demo (flying metabyte letters)? |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by oldskool on 15.07.10 at 11:31:02
Flying Metabyte letters rock :)
I tried it with carmegeddon 2 which had no cfg file so it made one up.Results where ok. Quake 2 and unreal gOLD also tested. I dont know if any games where specifically coded to take advantage of 3d shutter glasses, seems they where all adapted to show 3d. |
Title: Re: 3d sterescopic thrill ride Post by elfuego on 16.07.10 at 10:58:07
Update:
Seems that NFS2SE works much better then I thought; once I forced 1280x1024@75Hz I did notice a difference in game-play - the game looks epic. :D NFS3 on the other hand, doesnt work as it should. If I force the glide render (force voodoo2a.dll driver with registry tweaks) - stereo vision doesnt work. It only works for D3D, which sucks (no fog, no special effects, smoke looks crappy...). So please - if you have found any other drivers (other then 4.11) PLEASE post a download link here, I'm pretty sure that all of this is just a driver issue. Falconfly, would you perhaps place those drivers in the download section too? It *is* 3dfx related ::) |

My RAID broke again and took with it the metabyte drivers that I had :( Now I only have 5.02beta which doesnt really work and 4.11 that kind of works. I also tried the links, but they seam dead. Can anyone provide different links, or please re-upload the 4.12 driver?
Admins/moderators, what about placing these drivers in archives? 3dfxzone.it did it (for 4.11 at least, 4.12 is listed but its corrupt) |

Hi elfuego, I have 7 Metabyte Wicked3D eyeScream releases, plus those additional drivers I told you about on Vogons. I'll send you a link to my FTP server in a PM. We can decide where to host the files after properly testing these drivers. I will check V2 & V3 along this weekend, and V5 too if you still find problems enabling stereoscopy on it. |

I would be interested in the 4.12 release too. Can you send me a PM with the link also? EDIT: As unsaid; I was able to retrieve the 4.12 release ;D Interested people, please send me an e-mail; I will reply attaching the requested files ;) |

As I posted on vogons, the stereoscopy works for some games so its not completely useless. Its just that the games I have for testing (NFS3,4 and UT'99) do not work as they should. :( Thanks for the drivers! And seriously, moderators/admins: please put the drivers into archive. |

Does anyone know where to find an ISO of the Wicked3D Eyescream drivers? Every version ive found of it requires the CD to install.

Didnt you get the CD with the eyeglasses? I guess I could make an ISO but im not sure how legal would that be, nor if anyone would care anyway since it's a dead company after all. |

I had an iso at one time, I'll look. Might have left with the glasses when I sold them though. |

Ive had my glasses for a very long time, and ended up losing the CD. I remember the performance not being so good on my Voodoo2. I have a Voodoo5 now, so it shouldn't be an issue. But thanks to anyone who does upload it, I really want to play some glide games in 3D. |
