LEADFOOT caused an invalid page fault in
module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff9e0b7.
Registers: ...
But thats not rly important. Im using the official 3dfx driver couse I use also use the tuner. Ill try the game next week with V5 5500 and see what comes up.
Someone over at fuo motorsports(

Turned me on to a faq/troubleshooting website for dirt track racing sprint cars, which uses the same engine as leadfoot.

This computer has only been on the internet to download drivers. But, I figured what the hell and deleted the wsock32.dll and winsock.dll files which it says are the files that will be infected. Then I rebooted and re-installed the files from the win98 cdrom.
It says that any exe file in a zip archive file will be renamed to EX$. Well, I remember seeing a EX$ file in my video driver folder which I transfered over with a cd from my laptop.
I set up a computer for my dad and used a v3000 on that computer(with a fresh win98 install) Leadfoot seemed to run fine on that computer. But, that hard drive had never had the drivers(v5500 amigamerlin) installed which contained the ex$ file. It only had v3000(oem drivers) files installed on it. So, Im thinking that that file infected both of the hard drives that are having trouble with leadfoot.
So somewhere along the line I picked up the virus. Then it attatched itself to any exe file that was contained into any zip file. Which most 3rd party drivers are it seems.
Anyways. The game actually got through the first 3 tracks on career mode. Im cautiously optimistic at this point. Its late. I have to take my truck in because of a exhaust leak. I hate exhaust leaks. hehe.
Ill update tomorrow.
