Title: rarest v3 cards are?
Post by BFG3dfx on 14.12.05 at 06:15:07
TOP SIX
1) alienware v3's, pretty sure these are lost forever
2) 3dfx prototype with Mitsubishi geometry chip, Hank says there is only one
3) quantum3d's multi chip v3 board,
4) quantum3d's 3500 pci
5) multichip module V3, memory on substrate with V3, Only 8 were made
6) falcon northwest's 3500se, i feel someday were gonna find some of these, so i bumped it down
7) 3dfx 200mhz w/fan

list changed as rarer cards come up

if there was a card and 6 were made and 3 of those are in collections is that rarer than a card that 200 were made but none can be found five years later? see my point, im thinking rare as in avalibilty at this point.

and how many of those were there,do you know Hank?

i never could find out how many of those multi card v3 set-ups alienware made but no one ive ever talked too has heard of them except in the articles. im sure they must have made several to take to shows, one show they had 3 running i think.

its a nice idea this topic. i think we should make this thread a top 5 for all voodoo generations:

eg:

rarest Voodoo graphics:

1.) Diamond Monster 3D ( ::))
2.)...

thatn Voodoo Rush and so on!

Rarest V3's? I guess the A-Trend prototype (if it's real) has a good shot.

BTW, Hank, do you know anything about Realvision's VREngine VD1/2 cards? And did you guys do benchmarks with the Mitsubishi card? How did it perform compared to the regular V3's, and what were it's specifications?

Yes I know, lot's of questions, I just want to learn as much as possible :)

Since there is only one left, I'd have to agree.

Mitsubishi is the same brand I would think about who made the one of the best Rally cars like the Mitsubishi Motors Lancer Evolution VIII FQ MR 400 right?

Anyways if that is the the point, why a geometry processor for a Voodoo3, since the Voodoo3 can do that by it's self?

Mitsubishi does way more than that. Those Korean/Taiwanese/Chinese/Japanese companies got their hands into every sort of business.

Geforce 6, Geforce 7, Geforce Bla, Geforce LaLa (same for ATI)
