Can't say it will not work since vmods are quite simple to figure out for someone who knows something about electronics, but still he said the thing is still untested :P |

@TM30: on 3dfxzone you posted that you already tried overvolting using the Mosfet, resulting in some errors.
Or is this voltmod a little different? @st4r4m4m4: 3Dmark 99 MAX isn't a good benchmark for the Voodoo2, because it has a certain bug when you run the FPS test the first time, the second time you run it go's faster. I used to let the test run for about 15 times (any higher and I always got some strange error). This way the score would be a little bit more 'correct' it is something like benchmarking with Quake3. Maybe Unreal tournament.... that's a true glide game. |

We'll see it's up to TM30 to decide in wich "category" he will be the word champion ;D

I wish to test the V1 voltmodded on GLQuake 8)

i cannot see this kind of mosfet on any voodoo 1 (voodoo graphics) board... so a volt mod has to be placed at a different point. but i do not know where, at the moment, but i will give it a try, and try to analyze it..
... i did not yet made this voodoo 2 vmod but i will do it in the next days... ... and i use 3dmark2001 because only with this benchmark i can prove my results by using the ORB result browser, so i can give you a compare url |

now i checked all smd parts on a voodoo 1 board... but one part i checked is the PLL (Clock generator) and the other is an inverter...
so my as.sumption is: the voodoo 1 board gets their power DIRECTLY from PCI bus, and this is 3,3v (LOL i cannot write the word as.sumption without the "." ... it "detects" the word "ass" and replaces it with "disagree"... oh my god ;) ) conclusion: you cannot change it UNLESS you have a power supply with adjustible rails. but beware, when you raise the 3,3v line in your power supply you will increase it for all other components aswell... |
