well the image quallity is verywell visable
the GeForce shot is used at 1280 x 1024 x 16 in OpenGL with FSAA x4 and AF x16
the Voodoo5 6000 shot is taken @ 1600 x 1200 x 16 in Glide no FSAA and obviously no AF hehe.
look at the sky of of the Voodoo5 6000 shot compare that with the shot of the GeForce 6800 shot, the 6800 has ugly sky as for it's dark detail in 16 Bit OpenGL the Voodoo5 has a much sharper and clearer and more colourfull image that the 6800 Ultra shot, then they say that NV uses the same FSAA as 3dfx Well I found out that FSAA x4 on a Voodoo 5 5500 AGP @ 1024 x 768 x16 in Glide even looked better also.
Glide games run best on Glide based hardware as for Open GL and Direct3D they are just additoinal options for the game it's self, but they would and can never beat the image quallity of Glide where the game is built for
Game like Half life 2 would look better on a Radeon X1800 or a GeForce 6800Ultra because those games are built for those cards, only the FSAA will look best on the Voodoo 5 5000 & 5500. that counts for FSAA x2, x4 and FSAA x8 for Voodoo5 6000.
So to get back to this thread
3dfx Wins in the Descent3 Image Quallity test as with and without FSAA.
