Ok, if I didn't already have my own place, I'd be looking for one right now.  :P  Very short history. I've got a five year old daughter from my Ex that I'm very much a part of her life, and will always be (I've got her every Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and every other Saturday). Ok, I'm getting married finally (was never married with said Ex that I have child with). Ok so now, Friday rolls around and my Fiance' and I are going over bills because she's been using my checking account as well and I was trying to figure out how much of the money that was in the account was actually mine, not that it really matters but I wanted to get an idea of what I could spend and what i couldn't. Here's the insert foot, and posiably my leg up to my waist as well, part. She says some smart ass comment about "I've never had to do this crap with anyone else before blah, blah, blah." OK, now granted were on the phone talking about this, not face to face (thank god), and before my mind registers what came out of my mouth I heard the phone click (not good). Then my mind registered the fact that right after her little comment, my mouth took the liberty of saying "Well, I just went from one bit*h to another." (really, really not good). This my friends, is what not to say to someone that you're sleeping with. It's very bad for your sex life. I'm writing this now, after dropping off a bundle of flowers and appologizing (which by the way, does amazingly well).  ;D   Anyway, have a good night guys, I'm going to bed.

S*it happends. Sometimes the tongue can be much faster then the brain. The thing is not to let that happen to often. Flowers are always a good (re)cover action (I use it myself occasionally).  ;) You should always be carefull with women, especially with the ones you're going to marry  8)

Yeah, I know. I'm taking her out to dinner tomorrow night as well.  ;)   It was one of those things that had my mouth slowed down enough for my brain to catch up with it, would have never been said at all.

So are you guys living together? Would explain sharing the bills/expenses.

No, we both have our own seperate places right now. Her Ex ran up about 50 grand in dept under her name and then split and she had to declare bankruptcy with her checking account being part of that so I've been cashing her paychecks and writing checks for car insurance and what not for her. I don't know how this is all going to work out in the end, we're taking this kind of slow. We both have kids (I've got my daughter part time and she's got a nine and twelve year old-full time). We're not planning on actually getting married for about another year. We've still got some things to work out like schooling and such and trying to figure out where to live so we're just taking this as it goes for now. For the most part this works out great, when we spend time together it's actually quality time, not "how was your day?" and then go into seperate rooms or something. So it works out good (except for this argument which is very rare). She often jokes that we'll be the only married couple not living together because she's in no rush to have this happen yet either so it's working out pretty good. We've known each other for about two and half years and it's stronger now then it has ever been so we'll see. I do have to take her out to dinner tomorrow night though, I did kind of screw this one up.  :P

You might want to discuss with her opening a second account strictly for her. This way you wouldn't need to keep track of who's funds are who's. This account could be in both of your names or just yours. She could have direct deposit into it and an ATM card to access funds. Sounds like you've known her for a while now and I'm sure you trust her. Arguing over money can sure derail a long term relationship.

Not a bad idea, I could have it my name but just give her complete access to it, that might work out much better. Thanks.
