Not sure how many exist, but it is almost as elusive (if not more) than a Voodoo5 6000 actually. Gary's last shot with 4 Voodoo5 5000 was IMHO the only one of its kind, never saw so many Voodoo5 5000 in one picture.

Congratulations nevertheless. I'm still hoping to come across a good V 5000 AGP or brown box to finish up the retail box collection that I so wanted to have ever since 2001

bulk ware? wow... in otherwords like OEM.
protos come in bulk? hmm... now thats something new.
Let us know if its really a prototype or some other V5 retail card.
since the 5000 and 5500 looks similiar for a person who isn't really into 3dfx.

Reply #38 - 15.05.05 at 13:34:41 All the 5000 PCI cards I have seen were made early 2000, they were never "production" cards. It could be argued a few 5500 AGP x 4 were sold as production cards at the end since really it is no different then a regular 5500 except for the PCB.

Congratulations on your extreemly cheap 5000 PCI 8) 8) 8) , these are also thing that can make me happiy and feel better, let's hope it's not a defect card, cause it was sold for so less. Roll Eyes

but are you really sure it is a 5000 PCI cause some seller's don't even know what you're talk'n about sometimes, like I had with my Voodoo3 2000 PCI SGRAM with silver cooler, the seller said it was a 3000 PCI haha he even tried to make believe it was a 300 PCI cause of it's silver cooler, well I showed him that it was a 2000 PCI afterall, well never heard from that seller again

oh well was still nice to ave though for 12 euro's included postal services.

Reply #40 - 15.05.05 at 14:00:39 no it clearly stated "working" in the auction... but even it would be defective, its a rare card, man! much more rare than the 6000 i hope that its really a 5000 and not a 5500... but the seller says that the image matches the actual card...

Sometimes cards show up on the strangest places, sometimes extremely cheap.

My 3dfx Interactive, Inc. Voodoo 4 4500 AGP was only €15,-. That's cheap for a retail card.
But that's not the end of the story. I found it on a fair (HCC Dagen, biggest fair of the Benelux. It's open 3 days a year) on the 3rd and last day. About 30 minutes before closing time that card showed up 8)
Some things are just amazing Grin

And, finally I posted my collection in the "3dfx Collectors on this Board" topic. Wink

True, I have bought 2 cards a while ago and they never arrived...

These days I do not tell someone I bought a 3dfx card, I tell them if I actually have the card in home and made sharp pictures by my self Wink
