Post by BFG3dfx on 18.02.07 at 01:45:06
I thought i saw this topic somewhere but did not find it.

can a v3 be used for the 2d card for a voodoo2 sli setup, i know i read somewhere a v4 or v5 could but not to easy, is a v3 totally out or is it just hard to get working?

OK . . just found the info on the 3dfxzonit site, they say no v3, is it some driver issue due you know?

Both cards are 3Dfx, both use GLiDE... ;)

...therefore GLiDE version conflict! ::)

Nuff said! :)

What would be the benefit? Unless you are using the 3500 for the TV tuner function.

it would be possible to get it working,but it would require a HELL of driver tweaks (under win9x).glide/opengl drivers are able to coexist peacefully,its the d3d part that will get you in trouble.basically,you would have to install the drivers for the add-on manually,and install only the opengl/glide part of the driver.

under win2000/xp there is no such problem,you just install the add-on card drivers (opengl/glide only by default,because we all know that add-on d3d is not supported under the nt kernel),and just switch glide/opengl files as required..

I see..

I think it would work okay if you load the V2 drivers last and of course, the V2 would then be doing all the 3D rendering.

PS47 could probably assist you in working out any issues.

Good Luck my friend.
