Actually Rayman 2 is a pretty good game - there are lots of games that 'look' kiddy, but play quite good! ;D

Yumh! Yes! What about Donald Duck in Maui Mallard also called Cold Shadow? Of course it is not accelerated but it is a really good game!
...but... ...Rayman is Rayman... 8) (I've bought the 10th anniversary collection!!! ;D)

Three words... ;)

Use an emulator! ;D

The SEGA Genesis (Megadrive in Europe) and SNES versions of the game were MUCH better and will run on any good Windows emulator without having to deal with "old DirectX" issues... ::)

Note: - most of these games were ported from the Genesis anyhow - so it makes sense to use the originals. Also, they were ported during the early DirectX days, and can cause "issues" on modern WinXP systems! ::)

I have a lot of old-retrogaming-systems so I haven't problem with oldschool games... :)
There is nothing to do with me... I don't like emulators... They sounds to me like a Glide Wrapper :P

Mansfield: Have you tried Carmageddon 2? ;)
Other great games: requiem, deus ex, wheel of time, no one lives forever, system shock 2... Wow!

Well, Unreal Tournament '99 put's it to trouble when running @high quality 1024x768. Not to speak about Wizardry 8... That's really trouble ;) Rollcage 2 @ 1024x768 should be a tough nut to crack too, with all effects turned on. But, @800x600, everything is perfectly playable (exept wizardry 8, which really needs more texture RAM).

I'm gonna test some "new" games ;D ! tell me if some game below won't run on PIII 800MHz, 256Mb sdram, Voodoo2@SLI:

Battlefield1942
Counter-strike 1.6
Counter-Strike source
Hidden&Dangerous 2

Do you think that I have to overclock the cpu. should I download extra patches which lower graphicks settings

Yes, Need for Speed 2 SE in 3dfx, and that's something emulators and windows XP Compatibility tool kit can't do. You can play NFS 2 SE on XP with the Compatibility Took Kit fix, but not the 3dfx .exe, only the software .exe.

I don't have a voodoo 2, I have (2) voodoo(s) 1 I'll probably sell, and I have a voodoo 3 3500 tv, thanx to Gamma, he rocks. I bought it off him.

Before I was just using a voodoo 3 3000 agp, but I sold that in a Intel P3 machine I fixed up. Slow downs in NFS 2 SE might occur if you're using the CD drive, I make a cd image and play it with Alcohol 120.

Oh, and another game, pending on how many MB your video card is... Mortal Kombat Trilogy for the PC, requires between a 1mb video card and a 8mb video card, so those with 12mb, won't play it. I liked the music from that, and I've seen, and have somewhere, the XP vbe fix.

try nba 98...at 1024x768 when enabling all features with glares, mirrors and other shinny things both voodoo2s get a hard time.

Funny how everyone forgot FIFA '99. Works fine with 3dfx.
Probably the best soccer game EA has ever made.
My personal favourite.

I've liked Carmageddon 2, for me looks better in Glide-mode than d3d

i tried NFS: High Stakes (i got the european "Road Challenge" here, found in a thrift store), it defaults to High Details, it detect the Voodoo2 12mb SLI (latest FastVoodoo2 drivers) and plays just fine for me.

I have slight performance problems with the Voodoo3 even if it detect the card still (Amigamerlin v2.9 drivers), maybe because the game was made when the Voodoo1, Rush and Voodoo2 were released and not very optimized for later cards?

And the setup is a P3 550Mhz, 512mb SDRAM, AWE64 sound card, Win98SE, Radeon 7000 AGP 64mb main video card.
