please help after installing voodoo 2 on a old p2 366
256 ram
4mb ati rage pro
fastvoodoo2ge restart machine and i get
Glide Init Environment - Glide 2x.dll - Expected Voodoo None Detected now i'm lost what did i do wrong? better yet how do i fix it

Hm, does the Voodoo2 show okay in your Device Manager (I assume you're using Win9x) ?
I've experienced (in rare cases) that even if the Device Manager shows the Card as working, it in fact did not (e.g. Machine produced errors while booting or when accessing 3dfx Tools).
Just try to use another PCI Slot for it, it usually did the Trick even in difficult cases.
And for a safe Start, try to use a 3dfx Reference Driver instead. Once all is running, you can still upgrade to any later Driver of your choice.
