Title: 3500TV and windows xp pro
Post by MikeSomebody on 09.07.05 at 03:40:45
I recently changed from 98se to xp pro on a p3 600mhz 256mb ram machine and it runs perfectly fine, but I just can't get the TV/FM to work. I would really like both to work, but especially the radio. I'm using the drivers by some guy named Jonathan Seidner which I downloaded off of this site, and although the driver for the card works fine, the one for the TV/FM tuner will not install. whenever I go into the device manager and try to update driver and point to the correct directory, i click continue anyway at the windows logo screen, then it copies a bunch of files over and then says Cannot install this hardware, showing a picture of a speaker with the word MEDIA next to it. Below it just says Access is Denied.

Any ideas why this isn't working and how i can get it to work?

Thanks,
Mike

Hm, you might try DScaler or BTwincap as alternative Software.

The original VisualReality is known to cause alot of Problems for most Users under WinXP.

Maybe you should also try AmigaSport 2.0 3500TV xp driver. It seems that it has alot of positive feedback.

Hm, did I miss a Driver release somehow ?
(not aware of a V2.0 AmigaSport Driver for the V3-3500)

FalconFly:
The driver AmigaSport 2.0 3500TV xp is available for download here:

Amigasport 3.0 seems to have issues with the TV functions. PS47 recommends on the 3DFX Helppage using the AmigaSport 2.0 3500TV XP driver. He explained to me:

I (and few other users as well) had problems when using the tv features with Amigasport 3.0xp.strangely,they seemed to disappear when using AmigaSport 2.0 3500TV xp

Thanks, I'll try the driver.

I've also got another problem I forgot to mention. Every so often (very often recently), the screen will just go blank and I'll have to reset the system. Anybody else ever have this problem with a 3500tv in xp pro? if so, how did you fix it?

And is it right for the heatsink to burn your finger if you touch it for more than about a second or so?

Well, the Heatsink of the V3-3500 is known to become very hot.

But if it becomes extremely hot, a good Fan should be attached to it (can normally be screwed on using the passive Cooler fins as a stabilizing mount)

Thanks. If I ever have some problems I'll go ahead and add a fan.

Well, I've given up on xp and just went back to 98se. It was too big of a pain to make it worth it.

It works great now.

Now I just need to get ms office to stop crashing all the time...but thats a question for another forum.

thanks everybody!

I agree Win98SE is the best for every Voodoo3 :) I use Amiga Merlin2.9 and that works just fine togeather with 3dfx Overclocker :)
