Title: Can anyone identify this board??
Post by ultima on 20.11.12 at 19:47:13
hey guys,

a friend of mine gave me a voodoo rush the other day and I am having a hard time id'ing it.

I looked at Gary's site and the only thing that comes close is the; and I quote:

Hard to find Macronix MX86251 6 MB- This card seems to have made the rounds under a number of different names including Magic Rush3D and Pro Comp G-105.

Tho instead of the green pcb of the card on Gary's site, mine has a brownish/golden pcb

It has the MX86251 instead of the Alliance-25 chip, so.....

thanks for any info, and if anyone is interested, ya know where to find me :)

seeing that site that is a Skywell Magic 3D Rush and Gary only mentions 1 other. a ProComp Voodoo Rush, but I don't see Procomp anywhere on the card.

It does have a small sticker saying made in china, but that's it, apart from a serial number

looking at TDFX.de, it isn't the Procomp either:

I will have a closer look tonight, see if I can find anything

It does seem look the most like the Eagles Rush:

Except from the sticker, it does have some similiarities on the card, like bank 1 and bank 2 notes for ram and stuff

Don't get fooled by the layout, these were all standard designs. I think the font used on the card might be the best clue here, I'll have a look through all the images I have to see if I can find a card with a similar font on it. Does seem familiar to me for some reason.

I knew it seemed familiar;

Though, this particular company was a reseller, so unfortunately I can't help you any further on the actual manufacturer of this card.

Hey Nitrox,

thanks a million man, I think I did see that picture, but probably overlooked it due to the sticker and mine not having it. :)
And the bios chip seems to be from another manufacturer, or just another print on it :)

I'll post it in marketplace to see if anyone is interested.

Is this a rare card by the way?? Or hard to find so to speak?!

I wouldn't call it rare, it is hard to find tho. Otherwise it's a pretty regular rush card.
