Title: heatsinks - 370 vs A
Post by razrx on 24.07.08 at 20:51:39
I bought a heatsink/fan with a motherboard and CPU that was an AMD Athlon XP 2800+ setup - socket A.  I didn't use the heatsink/fan, but bought a different one for the setup.  Now I have a Socket 370 motherboard - Soyo SY-7VBA133U.  Can I use the extra heatsink/fan for this socket?

If needed, I can take some pictures when I get back from work.

thanks!

well it depends on the heatsink how large it is because it could come in contact with the caps near the socket of the Soyo MB

It's all good!  The heatsink/fan fits perfectly and no contact is being made with any capacitors.

:)
