That is interesting, the photo of this mainboard
http://cgi.ebay.com/MS6168-Onboard-Graphics-and-Sound-and-TV-OUT_W0QQitemZ6830768357#ebayphotohosting is taken from the Internet from an official site MSI http://www.microstar.ru/products/mainboard/full-pic/6168.htm therefore probably there is no fan on the GPU. 8) IMHO. |

WindowsXP is still from 2001 or 2002, not sure.
Still a good 4 years ago though. V3's might have been sold at those prices back then. |

yep gary, thats why brought it up at the top of my post, i have every driver disc made for the v3 3000 and none go higher than nt, so putting 2000 and xp was a dead give away that he put old info in there on purpose to rip some poor guy/girl off, and at the holiday season too. >:(

This one clearly is a Maxi Gamer 3D, only with name changed by InnoVision.
Am I right? Looks weird, did they just add the white name stuff on the PCB? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/3Dfx-Cyber-3DX5000TV-and-S3-Virge-DX-with-promo-booklet_W0QQitemZ6835225843QQcategoryZ27388QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

Well I have the same identycal card here, and it it quite different form the maxigamer. :P
Only the "rear"(on the right) part is similar/identycal, but thats not the case since all voodoo graphics mostly all look alike, and many even have identycal pcb traces in some parts. |

a ZIPPO with a 3dfx Voodoo5 6000 Case Badge on it and the seller say's it's an original Voodoo5 6000 ZIPPO yeah right!
http://cgi.ebay.nl/Zippo-3dfx-Voodoo5-6000-NEU_W0QQitemZ6240706867QQcategoryZ8870QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem here a Voodoo5 5500 AGP with 3dfx decailed Fans: http://cgi.ebay.com/3dfx-Voodoo-5-5500-AGP-Card-w-Driver-CD_W0QQitemZ8742713880QQcategoryZ40157QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem here an odd sale of a Voodoo5 5500 PCI Retail, the seller showed pics of a 5500 PCI with a MAC 5500 USA background, but he say's the 5500 PCI is retail :) http://cgi.ebay.com/3DFX-Voodoo-5-5500-PCI-Video-Graphics-Card-SLI_W0QQitemZ8743698332QQcategoryZ40157QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem "This card was pulled from my new AMD 3200 64 system. Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (12/05 edition) Post by st4r4m4m4-deleted_cookies on 31.12.05 at 15:59:51
Well afaik zippo never made any lighter for anyone with some plasitic casebadge-like thing, also in case it did it's highly improbable it stuck something on such a non flat surface.
Anyway if there is a smoker+3dfx (V56K) fan that has always some crappy lighters laying around and if that zippo si well preserved a 33eur bin is just about acceptable. Stuck the badge on the PC box and light a cigarette with teh (quite ordinary) zippo |
Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (12/05 edition) Post by st4r4m4m4 on 31.12.05 at 16:08:06
Ok back on track ;D
Does anyone know if zippo lighters work ok with ordinary gasoline? Since as I have seen original lighter fluid is quite expensive, so some smoker(+3dfx fan) might reconsider the option |

A German had the badges for sale a few weeks ago on Ebay, someone clearly just popped them on a generic Zippo. |
Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (12/05 edition) Post by st4r4m4m4 on 31.12.05 at 18:12:52
Question solved :) anyway that model of zippo is one of the most common ones so I doubt he will fool anyone, except those who understand its a "lot sale" and are going for it that way.
btw what was the price of the badges... are you maybe able to retrive a link of the auction? |

Big heatsink > big weight > big shipping price
All that for a card that has normally only about 200gr |
Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (12/05 edition) Post by TM30 on 04.01.06 at 01:22:39
i wonder how the onboard fan connector can stand so much power for the big fan...
(because i heard that some guys were destroying their radeons equipped with the Artic cooling silencer powered directly from the radeon card, and not from the power supply) in other words, the onboard fan connector normally is not sufficant to deliver so much power for a big fan... |
Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (12/05 edition) Post by st4r4m4m4 on 04.01.06 at 01:45:49

A broken system from a broken seller. Buy at your own risk, odds are it does not function or does so very poorly. I have a video of the unit in operation, it's rife with graphics errors. BTW- How rediculous is the seller? They show a picture of the external swaplock bypassed with internal connection cable but has the external swaplock cable connected. |

Look guys >:(
That mercury has a defective sub-System in it. How do I know? Because they sold it to me first and insisted that it was good. I told them that I was prepare to pack the system up and drive it up to Northern California and prove it to them. They maintained that it was fully-functional but as a goodwill gester they shipped the box you now see on ebay to me as a test system to work out whatever problems I was experiencing. As soon as I recieved the system I put there brick on my machine and my machine worked flawlessly. I put the suspect (bad) brick in their machine and it had the worst graphical errors I seen (same problem). I returned their test system with the bad brick in it. The listing states "No Video" so it has gone from bad to worst. Anyone would be cazy to bid on it knowing what I have shared with them. I don't want to see any of my friends here @ FalconFly get burned like I almost did :( You have been warned.. |

http://www.thedodgegarage.com/video/broken_merc.rar You will need a compression/decompression program like WinRAR to unpack it. Hi there
I haven't posted a lot yet! But I visit your forum nearly every day. I have also a small collection of cards (nearly 30). So I found this one on ebay. The seller only ships to United States. I wrote him two emails if he could send the card to my country. But I didn't get a reply. That's the reason why I post this auction here. According to gary's site it's a really rare card. The Canopus Pure 3D LX. Good luck. But note that the seller has no feedbacks until now. http://cgi.ebay.com/Canopus-Pure-3D-Accelerator_W0QQitemZ8754852777QQcategoryZ3762QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem |

well my dear 3dfx people here is one that should be evaded:
http://cgi.ebay.nl/VOODOO-5-5500-PCI_W0QQitemZ8768038747QQcategoryZ3702QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem it does look somewhat damaged on the edges but the the start bid price EUR 150.- come on insane for a 5500 PCI Boxed Euro it's not even sealed and maybe not even 100% complete either lol, these are things that make me mad, people just trying to get rich from selling thier cards at unimaginable prices, they won't be seen as 3dfx fans but just the other way around. It's just I can't stand sale like this so I thought might as well post it here to warn the rest of you lads and even by selling them at insane high prices, while this is not even a prototype also. It's more like a way of money abuse with 3dfx items imho. Anyways if it's 100% complete I'd say between 50 and 70 euro's max, even that is high I know. Then the one from Exxe is a way better deal that one is sealed ;) That would be my advice. @ Exxe When is your 5500 PCI Sealed gonna go @ ebay? If it does you may if you like put an url in this topic + Pic of it ;) cheers and Have a great ebay sale! |

HAHA fair enough, just acquired a nice voodoo 5 agp boxed etc, http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8774323091&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1, reasonably cheap, $36 AU would work out to around 22.20 EUR.
I recently received this auction http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8768093134&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1, however only 4 cards were in working condition 1 L shaped v4 the other 4 voodoo cards were DOA. Can't find much info on those L shaped v4s anywhere... Happy eBaying Obi-Wan! Quad |

ok so this thread is strictly for eBay items currently on auction? Not eBay related auctions ended?
|

Correct, this thread is for items that appear on Ebay and minor discussion about them.
(That wasn't the intention but the minor discussion happens anyways, lol) |

Gamma i have only done initial testing with the S-12, when using the analog vga i get no post, i havent tried the tv out, i don't have much engineering skills behind me so i'm gonna let someone else have a go. It's an awesome looking card its a shame to get rid of it.

Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (2006 1st edition) Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 11.04.06 at 00:29:11
no I don't lend people my money, just because of bad experience within the past, PayPal accounts don't require credit cards, and can be made cost free, all you have to do is depossit money on your PayPal accont via Bank Transfer, which only takes 2 to 4 days, When I do that it get's there within 48 hours time :) It all depends on how fast your Bank is :)
So PayPal shouldn't be such a problem, since Slovenia does have the Euro ;) |

hmm yeah heh it went al so fast hehe, Patience and R21vo were the other winners hehe
well when mine is here I will make 5MP shot's of it since that my dad is in Bremen on that Cruiser for his work. He'needs his 7.3MP Digicam to make extreemly High detail shots of the firedamage from the Fire blaze on that ship and he's the leader of the whole Recondtionering Project of that dammaged boat for 2 to 3 weeks :) So it will be 5 MP shots this time :) |

Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (2006 1st edition) Post by TM30 on 11.04.06 at 01:30:19
as ebay platin powerseller i can say that paypal sucks (customers often make a complain at paypal to early without contacting us... then we have to run for our money...),
BUT as a customer it works fine for me |
Title: Re: 3dfx Related eBay Auctions (2006 1st edition) Post by st4r4m4m4 on 11.04.06 at 01:46:30
Well hmm.. I'll put it this way... I feel no need using anykind of additional online payment systems, inside eu banking systems work fine, its true I have a bit harder time outside europe... but still its handlable, and I must say I never lost a penny (st4's knocking wood) in any 3Dfx deal so far.
Had to explain what are international wire transfers to sellers 2 or 3 times but thats nothing too bad. I handle all well, it works, so I chose not to try Paypal or other services. (we cant be all the same afterall) :) Also... I like the ladies @ my bank of choice ;D ;D Ok that's a joke, but they are still nice :) |

I got a card exactly like this some time ago and I tought the same thing, but I afterall did manage to identify it.
Its supposed to be Miga Banshee, yust another taiwanese manufacturer I'd say, there is also some ugly "official page" still mentioning the product http://www.miga.com.tw/ , also the card seems to have in part its own pcb desigh wich I haven't seen on other cards. I'd guess there is no miga banshee with the missing connectors installed. |

Yup that's the board.
Somewhere on that miga site tehe is also a picture of the card, so list it at will, I dont remeber checking any fcc numbers so I'm not sure who is the exact manufacturer, googling i found out only about this miga. Seems it was being resold as more brands :) |

At first an auction which includes a card you don't see every day at ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8801783518
The lower card is a ProVideo PV830, it's a Voodoo 2 in reference layout but it has a blue PCB instead of a green one. Then: do yourself a favour and don't buy these cards, the seller rips off at s&h-costs (he charges 12$ but sends it for 2$)... http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8801258607 http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8801258062 |

My dear people do not bid on this auction:
http://cgi.ebay.com/Voodoo-5-6000-Voodoo-4-4500-Voodoo-3-2000-by-3Dfx_W0QQitemZ8817968967QQcategoryZ40157QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem it's not to trust, since I have informed the seller for what card it is with the following statements and questions: "Hello obiwankenobi28 here. do have some better photo's of the Voodoo5 6000 with AC adapter? Because the one you posted has no AC adapter on the photo ! ;) Cheers obiwankenobi28. " So I asked him about the VoodooVolts and here his reaction: "Im at work now, when i get at home i try to post more pics. Tha ac adaptor is really cool, with a 3dfx on it. Thanks" so he gave me the idea that it has the same VV the Rev.A1 1500 has http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/5414-2/3dfx_voodoovolts_tilt.jpg Then I asked about the Revision and PCB date of the card it's self, since the pic he used looked like a Rev.A 2700 from someone from Germany aka Hutzeputz Wink . "Hi Lenardo , obi again hehe does the Voodoo5 6000 have an Intel Bridge chip on it like this one: Rev.A1 1500 http://www.3dfx.cz/voodoo5/6000.jpg or does it have a HiNT Bridge chip like this one: Rev.A2 2600 http://home.pages.at/s-k-1/V56K/1.jpg or like this one: Rev.A 3700: http://www.3dfx.ch/gallery/d/6719-2/DSC00854.jpg [my Voodoo5 6000 & VoodooVolts ;) ] cheers, as a Voodoo5 6000 owner I'd like to know the precise info of that 6000 that's all. Cheers, Obi-Wan Kenobi." He came to me with the following words lol,: "Hi! It is a Rev.A2 2600 (Thanks for the info!). Thanks" So that gave me the idea it was about a Rev.A2 2600 card with a Legacy 4 pinned VoodooVolts with 3dfx logo, but still no pics there there was something fishy about this bro. So I made a last request for the pics today with the following mail: " Hi Leonardo, Obi again hehe Sorry I ask so much but as a member of the Voodoo5 6000 Resource Group I would like to see the photo's before the auction ends cheers, Bennie." So he has a good 20 hours left and if no pics arrive Gary, then yeah I'll be glad to spread the words about this bugga allright 8) I made bids to get his attention, there are ways to remove bids hehe. Anyways I made those bids to get the basterd attention you see and I knew 200% it would go past the 1000 USD mark ;) so with that advantage I could do my research on this SithSpit. So My friends of FalconFly And Voodoo Alert which also visit this great place this Auction is not to trust since that this guy can't give proof of real photo's of this product! yes, i think you are right. just look at the other pictures. all 3 pics are taken from the www, cause all 3 pics have different backgrounds on it...
just look, he has the picture of the 6000 from this site: http://www.x86-secret.com/popups/printarticle.php?id=124 ... okay, pics from the www doesnt mean that you cannot trust him, but i think if you sell this stuff, you make own pics. especially when its a 6000... on the other hand, maybe he didnt know the real value of a 6000 before... |

well when the auction ends be happy that the dutch lad went for it, good you cleared off soon enough also.
My mind went kinda funny when it went over the 1200 mark, that's why I started my little research and that way to get as much of info from that seller and yeah no pics of the official thing he is selling either, so that ain' anormal thing to fall for. I just hope the others that are or were going for it relises this also. So I suppose that that auction was a good example of an untrusted one, not everything on ebay is buy safe heh as we see with this one. The important thing is that I'm very happy that noone of this great place didn't take the bait all the way, also I'm very happy you backed this one off Robbleecn, I don't like seeing my friends in regret especially for something like that auction. :-[ :-X anyways here's a breezer then :) 3dfx Voodoo5 5500 AGP 64MB Boxed USA Edition: http://cgi.ebay.com/VooDoo-5-5500-AGP-3dfx-VIDEO-CARD-RARE_W0QQitemZ8818956416QQcategoryZ40157QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem 3dfx Voodoo4 4500 PCI 32MB: http://cgi.ebay.de/3dfx-Voodoo4-4500-PCI-32MB_W0QQitemZ8819322241QQcategoryZ19568QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Guillemot MaxiGamer 3D PCI 4MB With Manual, drivers Pass Through Cable and Driver CD: http://cgi.ebay.de/Maxi-Gamer-3D-3DFX-Grafikkarte_W0QQitemZ8818889097QQcategoryZ13492QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem a nice 3dfx Voodoo3 3000 AGP = TV-Out 16MB Boxed: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/3DFX-Voodoo-3000-AGP-2x-Graphics-Card-Boxed_W0QQitemZ8819461025QQcategoryZ96873QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem INTENSE 3D VOODOO Rush PCI 6MB + Stereo In, Composite & S/Video Out. http://cgi.ebay.com.au/INTENSE-3D-VOODOO-3DFX-VIDEO-CARD-PCI_W0QQitemZ8820059287QQcategoryZ40157QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem#ebayphotohosting no wierd ebayers this time hehe |
