Title: Last known 3dfx PCB Date? Post by rottentreats on 28.04.13 at 16:10:09
The question came to mind and I am not sure if it has been brought up... (or answered at least)
What is the last known PCB date of a 3dfx graphics card? Looking around I found a Rampage that had 4700. (thnx exxe) http://tdfx.de/ger/rampage.shtml BUT then... I started thinking that over the years I have saved many, many 3dfx pictures. So I started looking through them as I swore I saw something later.. then I found the picture below. Which appears to be a 5500 4x.. but it has a date of 7500. (which obviously isn't a real date) Could it be possible that it was printed with this date for some reason? Or are there any known "miss prints" of PCB dates on 3dfx cards? |

There should be cards from 2001. Incredible Technologies comes to mind.
I think there's already been a topic on this, or at least a conversation in a topic. |

Some AAlchemy cards from Q3D should be from 2002 also, but don't remember the exact date.

Yes, the aalchemy single card bricks 82xx and the dual card ones 84xx. From 2001 to 2002 probably |

AFAIK AAlchemy boards were actually produced at least until 2006, but more likely until 2007 - early 2008.
BTW I think he means a 3DFX card made by 3dfx facilities; since Rampage is the last prototyped project which we're aware of, I think the last PCB date belongs to the latest known Rampage board. |
