if an old OS works Why Upgrade, I Rather use Win98SE and Win2K Pro = SP4 all the way, XP didn't make me so happy either even with those gaylike animatics and so on

really,once xp wont be sufficient for running modern apps (3-4 years I assume),I'm switching to some other os,linux or something..vista? NO freakin' way.I dont need another sh!tload of cute animals eating my desktop,not mentioning other fancy brightly colored cr@p

Yeah, I've already seen what WinXP does, I don't need any more of that.

Win2000 IMHO was the last, more or less "honest" and straight-forward OS from MicroSoft, everything after it just got worse and worse on the Security issues and Trojan horses bundled with it.

When they shutdown Win2000 support, I'll play the last supported Games and then go 100% Linux (currently using 95% Linux).

Well, when XP first came out, I thought it was the ME version of Windows 2000- another Mistake Edition. Buggy, crash prone and didn't like some of the drivers that were out at the time for some of the cards that I was using, and I went back to using Win 2k until SP2 for XP came out. Since SP2, I have ran into very little problems with it (most have been hardware problems - bad Mobo, memory controller going out- intermittant memory problems).

I've got 98SE installed on two machines running older games, XP on my main box and 2000 on an other box. With having half the services in XP turned off, and with certain bios options changed, along with putting it in classic mode to look more like Win 2K, I do like the speed of XP compared to my 2000 box (similar specs across the board except vid card), and it's been just as stable if not more so. Until 2012 or when ever XP finally goes out of support, I don't think I'll be using anything else and that's including after getting my AMD 64 chip. Just my opinion though. Not looking at going to Vista at all.
