Title: Orchid Righteous 3D identification
Post by bushwack on 27.04.06 at 23:56:49
Just picked up a Orchid Righteous 3d to replace the Diamond Monster I have in my retro system. See this I the original card I had back in 97' but sold it to buy a Voodoo 2, I missed the clicking.  ;)

Anyways I was cleaning it up to install and was about to take the sticker off of the PixelFx chip figuring it was a OEM sticker but decided to check first. Should say 500-0003-03 under the sticker right? Why would they place the sticker on the chip?

Such ID Stickers are usually found only on Quantum Boards (there, they are final ID's for PCB's that can have different roles).

On a Chip, it would mean it is a stepping other than originally imprinted, or simply 'human error' (although quite rare in the Chip business).
