only90^^

remember it have no 3dfx sticker
somit can also be a normal psu

It could, but since he's got 3 6000's, I'm inclined to think it's a real one.

btw. I'm not sure what you ment with 'only90^^', do you not think it's a good price for an original Voodoo volts?

Just double checked and it's an original, moreover he said this (not my words) :

Quote:
Whoever said that must have a very superficial knowledge about Voodoo5 6000. He saw the early volts which has a sticker. That one works for Intel Rev cards etc..
Had one of those as well but for a final or a3 card you need the one you bought. The type 2 Voodoo volts never has a sticker.

YAVV...Yet another VoodooVolt...

Are they getting cheaper?

PS: http://cgi.ebay.com/Lacie-ACMC-01-12V-DC-4-6A-AC-Adapter_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcateg...

If the connector fits, this one should work too.

The adapter that Tim bought is definately the read deal. I can vouch for "pyroini", I know this seller personally and he knows what he is talking about. He has a very rich Voodoo5 6000 history.

Do not try to use a standard "laptop adapter" on a Voodoo5 6000. Many people have tried in the past, when the real adapter was still very rare. I have never heard of any of them succeeding, but many stories of toasted cards.

Although arguably the adapter could be regarded as not a real Voodoo Volts but a substitute. 3dfx decided to use the leftovers from STB. These adapters where originally intended for some kind of LCD setup called Galileo.

For comparison: the old one has a 3dfx part number, the STB one does not

Thank you Omega, yes the back of my v-volts is exactly the same as in that second picture. Smiley

He does seem to have a very nice Voodoo 6000 history from the brief emails that we had exchanged. Very nice boards he has.

Wow, I think quite a few missed this one.

Quantum3D SB50, can't make out which model it is, but still, £5.50, that's almost stealing!

Darn, my V4 PCI box got lost in the post. Atleast, it's been 3 weeks, and I paid EUR 20 for shipping, which should have arrived already. The seller is checking it out with the German post.

Let's hope it's still underway.  Undecided

German mail can be rather slow, more so during the holidays. I'd give it anotother week or two.

Oh okay, I was just thinking, since EUR 20 is quite a lot, you would think it would have been express shipping. They usually are very slow. Let's hope it will still arrive.

Thanks Gary.
