Actually, for a fair comparison, you'd have to comapre the Rampage to a Voodoo 4500. ::)
They are both single chip cards. ;) |

well that would be a devistating difference , the Rampy has 128 Bit DDR and it has 4 Pixel Shader Processors per core I think a Voodoo4 4500 comarrison with this Rampage would be destructive LoL ;D ;D ;D if it reaches speeds of a GeForce4 Ti4200 ...

I don't know much about the daytona cards, is that 4X AGP slot? just noticed that the slots are different. How close was 3DFX to releasing that before the buy out and would that have posiably kept them affloat had they gotten that out to the public (just speculating of course)?

1) The board above is Rampage, not Daytona.
2) The Daytona boards were due to be released for sale in January-Febuary 2001. Some PCI Daytona boards had already been sold to IBM before that. 3) The 4500 (Napalm, VSA-100) is a AGP x 4 compliant part. |

Looks like all the resistors in this area of the PCB have a SMT resistor value of 472. ;)
...so @Gary would only need to find another one of these resistors to solder where there was one missing. :) (hope you have steady hands mate!) :o |

Very actually, I have completed a number of repairs to non-functioning boards. One of my other hobbies/jobs was removing of EPROMS from Chrysler turbo computers and reprograming the contents. Lots of practice solidering/de-solidering. Frankly if the board functions fine in all modes I'm leaving it be, no sense risking disaster for what could be a non-issue. |
