Title: My first Bogus ebay Seller experience
Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 12.09.06 at 13:32:46
Today the card arrived and the box was very shocking to look at,

here the auction as the seller stated:
http://cgi.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=320022909665&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:IT&ih=011

as you can he heposted a pic of the box in it's 100% state, no marks nothing but when I opened my package it was like wtf is go'n on did I buy something from a bogus seller?

the top right part of the box with 3dfx logo has been cut out  with  a stanly knife so I see a white square instead of art, and on the back there is ugly blank tape with small cut out's as well, damn dunno what todo with it but sell it or through it away the box has no worth like in the state it is now arrggh! Sigh!

Sigh , some pics later on this day.

Anyways I do not know what to do against this sithspit, retreav'n my 48 US Dollars back is also something hard to believe, anybody any idea's?

oh this is the seller that is resposable
http://feedback.ebay.nl/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback&userid=alnovagateway&item=320022909665&iid=320022909665&frm=1883&ssPageName=STRK:MEWN:SID

here the pics of the box, it's really crappity smacked up to see, sorry for my words but I suppose you all understand the state you would be in if the same happen to either one of you's  :-/

Top, Sigh

Bottom, another Sigh

People like these bogus sellers should be wiped from the archives of ebay. >:(

Those white squares are not stickers but Cut Outs by a Stanly Knife of some sort arrgghhh!!! >:(

Though I think that the Gateway Voodoo3 3000 AGP + TV-Out was the bait then, I mean it's a bloke with like 1083 possitive feedbacks, by givin free cards this way he can earn possitive feedbacks no wonder, and yes the bad thing is I gave him a possitive feedback, I could not of known that this AMI was as evil as he is now .

FWI- The seller does indicate the picture is a "stock retail" which to me sets off warning flags.

hmm true now that I found out I did learn a lesson and have to live with it simpl, but his possitive feedbacks was like 1083, and that made me feel safe at forst., so I could not of known by then in the first place, but anyways what has happened has happened, simple and plain. :-X

Next time I bid on something I will ask real photo's of the product it's self before continue'n any further I would advise this to every 3dfx ebayer out there.

But yes Gary you have a very good point there.  ;)

I feel your pain @Obi_Wan - I bought a Voodoo 4500 AGP a long time ago that arrived with the box covered in sellotape. :o

Worse still it was OLD sellotape that was TOTALLY stuck - the box (like yours) was a write off...bin food! >:(

anyways it seems that all boxes were like this which he sold to others as well.

Anyways I kinda kept my words and accepted this as I went along, don't want to make such a fuss abpout it, the advantage is that both cards work fine, so it's not such a loss, these do happen once in a while, as a Jedi Master, I have learned to accept things the way they are and move on.

He made his applogies and is gonna give me a possitive feedback so that's all okay.

Do you always give positive feedback before you receive the item?

Yeah, I've always waited to get my items in my hands before any feed back goes out. I don't order that often from Ebay as it is because shipping prices are so jacked up but for the couple of things I have gotten off of it, I've always waited before sending out any feed back.

Off subject..... Hey, I'm a full member now! Three gold stars!!  ;D

@ Gamma742

yeah sometimes, a user with 1083 possitive feedbacks sounded safe and after I payed he posted a pic of on how the package was packed and so on, and he put an extra free V3 3000G AGP + TV-Out free in the package, so that made me think give this bloke a Positive since it looked very trusty in the beginning, but yes you are right in certain point of view :)

wait and see what the product is like when it arrives then feedback, couldn't agree with you more there.

Oh well as Jedi's or people we learn from our mistakes and move on, and yes I have learnt from my mistakes, accept what I have done wrong, since it's pointless to linger on about it, gotta move on ya know :)

I agree with both of you. I recently purchased some cards a seller, I asked if he would combine shipping and give me a break, say half on the second auction. He replied back and said 2 $ off the second item. The 2 auctions were reasonable but shipping was 9 $ so my total shipping was 16 $ a bit high for combined shipping on a couple of video cards :-/

The auction ended on August 22nd. I still don't have my Voodoo cards. What seemed like a good deal isn't so good now. He made his money on shipping. Even if he refunds the purchase price he made money, and I got screwed >:(

No I take my time on these things. The guy has 150 feedbacks only 2 negitaves, none in the last 12 months. I'm unhappy he will get a new negitave that will sit on his account for everyone to see.

It's up to him at this point. I'm unhappy because he has my 20.00$ and I have nothing.

Do you think he wants to buy some negitave from me. Because for 20.00USD I'll sell him some negitave :P

Heh Heh heh!
