well everyone thought that Speed of sound was impossible, but we humanoid did manage thatt, I'm suggesting that in 2075 we shall whitness Speed of Light and maybe earlier 2058 at the least Wink

But here another thing, what about Mars, is there going to human civallisation there? or is that many years awaited from us?

Above light speed... who knows, anyway in case it si possible we cannot see it hehehe
For mars... first we'd need to find to find a plant that is able to grow on martian soil and environment, plant a  lot of it and wait for the plant to produce enough O2
note!! we need plants who reproduce by division, hermaphrodite plants or to plant/seed a really frikkin lot of "ordinary" sexually reproductive plants since there are no means for plant's sexual reproduction (bees and so on)

yeah you have some very great explanations and idea's, why don't you join the Mars project and help NASA Tongue you really have feeling for this, that's cool dude.

I first thought that Venus would of been a possibillity, but hence all the storms and very hot wheather, live wouldn't be able to coéxsist.

Nice discussion! but isn't it true that it's a waste of time and money (@FalconFly) to care about aliens and space so much, since we poor humans already have so many problems here that we need energy, time, money and will to solve?

I mean hum well yes ok *shutting down*...

not aggressing anybody, just my point of view...
Then you're all gonna tell me if there was no space research and exploration I wouldn't be using my satellite tv and so on blablabla I know thanks ^^'

a waiste of time is to post things that are against this topic, I don't believe in a waiste of time really, someday we are gonna need a new plannet to live on, because all what we are doing is waisting our time and air with our toxic gasses, no wonder why there are so many sick and ill humanoids on this plannet, so doing Seti is not a waiste of time, imho it's morely finding a way out of this place.

I believe we arn't alone, I really believe that they are watching us, how we fight against our own species, actually we are a crazy race really to be precise.

It's just science, and science is never a waste, it's what got us here in the first place.
If we can search for discoveries, we always should do so.

Otherwise, we'd invest 100% of our time into creating small, narrow-minded 'inhouse' (terrestric) Problems until we extinct outselfes.

Latter is actually the biggest danger to our species, having at least a 'backup' planet occupied dramatically increases chances of survival.

A single large rock from the Asteroid belt could change the fate of humanity every day.
The last "close passes" were within 50000 and 150000km and were not observed until 3 days after the pass. If any of those would have hit, we wouldn't be using the internet right now but try to heat our caves due to a constant -60 Deg. ambient temperature outside.

ligtspeed again: since there is such thing as black hole's above lightspeed escape velocity, I belive it coud be absolutly possible to reach and pass over the speed of light

(but that probably doesen't guarantee matter's stability when doing it)

Sure, I was just trying to say that before caring about the space we should care about the earth.
It is sick that nowadays people start talking about "finding new planets to live on"; it shows that we treated, are treating and will always treat the earth so bad we'll necessarly need to find another place.
I mean, things like brushing your teeth without having any water coming out could save our planet, or at least preserve it for the upcoming generations.
I don't want my sons and daughters to live somewhere else, it'll show that we all failed here and we'll fail wherever we'll go.

Sorry for making you all upset with my last post, but one of the best quality of the human being is that of being able to think on his own.

Nah, no pun intended or taken Wink

It's just that one day, we'll be forced to leave this planet anyway (for completely natural reasons we have no influence on), we can only hope we'll make it by then.

After all, nothing lives forever, not even our sun or planet (although it'll likely be another ~6 Million years before this star burns out and develops either into a Super Nova or a White Dwarf)

Since there are other risks involved (including over-population, lack of resources and other natural planetary hazards) as well, we'd find ways to populate other stars better earlier than later. Who knows how many generations we still have... ?

yeps that right, only time will tell and lead us the way.

Though Space travel is on the merge of arrival, let's hope that there will be a planet nearby, so we can make trips to it and discover new lifeforms and find a new way of life.

or something nice, staying positive would be better, but anything can happen as we are used to all these eons and eons.

Well, a couple of thoughts on this. One, I don't think we're alone but probably to far (and moving further away from) the next solar system to find out in our life time. The other thing to look at, is it's not just our distance to the sun that needs to be replicated, the temperature of thier sun, thier orbit, distance, habitat, age of the planet, as well so who knows, there's a posiability that we are the only ones out here (don't mean to burst anyone's bubble here). Two, I think we do have to look at mars or at least one of the moons to some other planet to potentially move to at somepoint. No offense to Falc, but I don't think it's because of Mother nature and impact of our own. We have acid rain, global warming, world wide polution that is killing off animals and an alarming rate, especially looking at the oceans, so I don't think that mother nature will do anything that we haven't caused it to do (again, not trying to put a damper on this conversation, just pointing some of the negitives out- that's all). So I do think we need to be looking at another planet. I hate to have my daughter or grand kids living, how ever many miles and years it takes to get to mars, away because we screwed up this planet so much we can't repair it but that's how it is right now. Just my thoughts though, and hopefully someday soon, we'll all find out some of these answers.
