I have problems while playing with my PC.
When "fog" efect shows up... (in games such as Kingpin, Freespace 2, ...) there is no textures, but object geometry shows all the rest.. with "gray layers", that are moving as I move mouse.. or move in space..

There are no problems while playing in direc3d, but in glide there remains problem !! (same problem in HalfLife when i go in water for examle...) When there is no water/fog the game goes normal!

Please help !!!

my pc:
PII 533 MHz
256 MB Ram
MSI Motherboard with integrated Voodoo3 2000 (AGP) and SB PCI

Well that problem is showing allways (from the biginning), with old drivers ver. 1.04.00. But problems remained with newer drivers too (ver. 1.07.00 Win 9xDarko Lekic ; downloaded from www.voodoofiles.com). Undecided

So, my current drivers are 1.07.00

well, I looked up to my c:\windows\system, and there are both present (named exactly: Glide2x.dll & Glide3x.dll) with installed 1.07.00 drivers

what it is all about ? (patience)

today I'll try to download:
1.09.00 beta10 and
GLIDE2x™ 2.61.00.2602 / GLIDE3x™ 3.10.00.2608

we shall see what is gonna be then..

I tryed 1.09.00 beta 7 ( that wasn't beta 10, but according to your other messages at forum maybe I should download beta 9, instead... bugs, and stuff?? )
Beta 7, installed and... nothing.. same problem!
So it is very likely glide problem (or voodoo3 card not working propertly) Cry

I hope it's glide problem..

So I will try those Glide3x V2610, Glide2x V2604 ...

Problem again!
With all things done, nothing helps...

I tryed drivers 1.09.00 beta 7
and newist glide dll's ...

Maybe I should try older drivers (1.02.00 maybe)???

Hlep please... what else can I do to?

Since almost two years.. when I played HalfLife.. when I went in water... there was this problem... but in all games if problem existed I played in Direct3d Cry

But... soon I qet Freespace2 and there I couldn't set game to D3D! And I decided to find some help

First I must say that that problem shows ONLY at missions (Freespace2) when flying thru fog, other missions are ok (other games too), so I never considered that problem very serious Undecided

My PC:
MSI 6168 ZX chipset
Intel Celleron (P2) 533 MHZ (no overclock)
integrated Voodoo3 2000 (8MB !!!) & integrated Creative SB PCI !!! (both integrated)
256 MB Ram
Quantum FBall 30GB (formated few times and Win98 installed from ZERO- few times too)
Riptide modem

And I'm NOT A PATIENT! Angry

I like my poor voodoo, eversince I saw what it can do in Glide conpareing to D3D. Of course there WAS problem, but in very small number of games, so I played them fithout problem (starting with NFS 3,4, SShock2, Q2, Q3, Unreal, Descent3, Ground Control, Mech Commander, Deus Ex, all way to Undying, Wolfenstein 3D, Colin McRae Rally2, and many more newer hi-req qames such as AvP2 or such) with ONLY 8 MB!! Not to mention fantastic DivX playing.
That is the reason I beleved that problem persists only at game code of few games, but problem seems to be at V3.

I did't upgrade drivers of snd card or motherboard. I tryed to find newist BIOS for 6168 but all I finded is my current version.

I told U about HDD.

And about Creative SB PCI... I can't remove it, but to disable it from BIOS maybe!

Problem remains Should I try to remove drivers for SB pro PCI ?? I don't think that will help..... I played games with that problem since 2 month, so I will play them now too... ( 'till newer GPU ) Hope it will not be nVidia (ATI or SIS)!!
