If you saw the recent news about the Interplay Freespace 2 re-release, but balk at the price, you might want to consider a game that is a bit more affordable (as in free).  Origin's last Wing Commander game was not a retail product, but a downloadable, stand-alone 112 MB game called Wing Commander: Secret Ops (WCSO) which was released several years ago.  The Wing Commander community has produced add-on missions for WCSO, and in 2002, they even produced a free 75 MB campaign called Unknown Enemy.  HCl has also produced some hi-res patches for the Wing Commander:  Prophecy and Wing Commander:  Secret Ops games, so dust them off and relive the glory days!
