Voltagequestion

Hi guys! Grin

How can I know, if the mainboard (MSI KT3-Ultra2) supports 3.3V or not?

My Voodoo5 AGP boots without error beeps. Voodoo3 AGP makes the mainboard to beep 3 or 4 times, and then it boots flawlessly: http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/4018/mergedown6ne4vq.jpg
I only want to be sure, not to kill my Voodoo5 6000, when I get it back from Hank: http://666kb.com/i/115ps50j3j94x.jpg

Hi,
you can use the mainboard with the v56k. I used the same for a long time (MSI KT3 Ultra 2 / MS-6380E Ver. 1.0 with the newes BIOS).
With the v3 and v5 I had the same "problems" as you.

Good V6K compatible motherboards can be had so cheap in comparison to the cost of a V6K. I can't understand we people would risk it Shocked

I know, this one is sold. The point I'm trying to make is, Why not pick up one like this for your V6K machine?

I don't wanna risk it. That's the reason why I'm asking.  Wink

I was only wondering why my Voodoo5 5500 AGP boots without any error beeps or other problems...

My V6k worked very well with  a MSI KT3 ULTRA2. Anyway, I prefer an Epox kt333 board. Wink

yeaps The EPoX EP-8K5A2 is also the best EPoX board I've ever had Smiley it works absolutley amazing with every Voodoo AGP card including the Voodoo5 6000 Rev.A 3700 Smiley

the 8K5A2 is a newer model than the 8K3A model it has USB 2.0 as an extra Wink and the layout is somewhat different also.

The EPoX EP-8K3A / EP-8K3A+ and the EPoX EP-8K5A2 / EP 8K5A2+ are the best boards for the Voodoo5 6000 as far as I know of.
