Correct and it should be fairly reasonable considering DVD R-/+ media here is about $1 each and the media shipping rate for mail service. |

Finished compiling the DVD tonight- 4.2 gigs of buttery goodness total ;-)
Since after I was done there was some extra room I have included an ISO of the Velocity driver disc, an ISO of the 3dfx version 1.0 software developer kit and 500 megs of internal Napalm drivers sent to me by someone else ;-) There is movies, docs, two versions of the Comdex press cd's, 130+ pictures and loads and loads of beta drivers and tools. I'll stop at the post office in a day or two and try to find out what the media rate shipping will be. stay tuned... Gary |

If you got more stuff, I recommend packing everything with 7zip (alternative freeware, heaps better than .zip and still alot better than .rar even) to squeeze more stuff on it *g*
Anyway, count me in :) |
Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 02.09.05 at 11:47:59
hmm can you use WinRar to open 7Zip files then? if not it maybe handy to add that 7zip program on the DVD as well, just a tip.
Cheers, Obi-Wan Kenobi. |

I do have those 4 DVD discs with OEM drivers but you already have them FF. |
Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by paulpsomiadis on 02.09.05 at 12:52:28
7Zip is a proprietary format - it ONLY works with 7Zip extractor...not a problem as it's free! ;D

Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by gdonovan on 03.09.05 at 00:16:44
$7 USD. (Roughly 5.6 Euro)
Shipped to US would be cheaper as it could go basic media rate. I forgot to mention that there is also a bunch of bios files and utilites as well along with V3/V5 Mac drivers/bios too. |

Darn, came in after I bailed out to the post office. I'll send the disc out sometime this week, I'm trying to cut down the number of trips I make on account of the skyrocketing gas prices. :P I'm sure I'll be in the area of the post office before Friday. |
Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by FalconFly on 07.09.05 at 02:35:39
hehe, what's the price for a gallon of standard gas over there now ?
We've hit like 1.30 Euro recently (a liter of normal gas), and it's predicted to climb... (that's 6.13$ per Gallon, Premium managed to hit 6.84$) |
Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by gdonovan on 07.09.05 at 02:55:04
The cheap stuff is about $3.25 a gallon with high octane running close to $4 in this area.
A few weeks ago regular was $2.60 Before comparing consider that there is many, many more miles of highways in the US compared to other countries so from a tax perspective the government makes more money via volume. My van (which gets 24 mpg, the Spirit pulls in 33 mpg, both turbocharged of course) a fill up is $44, now the same fill up $55.25 So that's once a month pulling an extra $44-$55 out of the wallet along with the prices of everything else going up. Yup, I use to average 400+ miles a week driving, deliverys, shipping, daughter to school, etc. I'm glad I converted the van to 5-speed, it use to get 17 with the automatic :P |

I'm considering selling my 2004 Toyota Tacoma and getting a Motorcycle. I don't use the truck much since I have a company car (weekends). The weather here in San Diego I can ride pretty much year round. Could borrow the wife's RAV4 during bad weather. Plus, I can drive in the carpool lane on a cycle ;)
I think I talked myself into it. Now if I can only convince the wife :-/ |
Title: Re: Preorders for @Gary's 3Dfx DVD Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 07.09.05 at 13:29:54
hmm very intersting here in The Netherlands it's about 1.89 per Litre, though I don't know if a litre is equivallant to 1 Gallon, any know that, I know I was bad at Mathematics and Econnomics lol ;D

For some reason my Sony DVD burner/Nero damages the stb mpg even when the file is zipped! I'm totally baffled by this.
The file will be hosted on a server for download. Gary |

Some things just won't work. Crystal Caves for example (DOS game;~1992). Burn it to CD with an AOpen CDRW* and the exe file is corrupt ::) Compressed (ZIP) did work in this case :) *Only tested with an AOpen CDRW drive. Don't know if other drives/media have the same problems |
