That's what I thought, but I already have a Voodoo 3 1000 and it has more ram and looks like this.

http://www.falconfly.de/identify/CompaQ_Voodoo3-1000.jpg

The white sticker says V3 1000 with bios version.

The one I just got has less ram and doesn't say V3 1000 on the white sticker, it just shows the bios version.

I think I got this, but I just want to confirm it.

I have a v3 1000, and it's identical to both the auction and the pic you just posted...

Well, the Voodoo3 1000 (not OEM without Cooler) and the Velocity 100 are actually the same Card IMHO, with the single exception of the Bios.
(it's possible to re-enable the artificially disabled 2nd TMU on the Velocity under Win9x, making them absolutely identical in the end)

So telling those apart by looks only (except for the Bios Label maybe) is impossible. You'd have to ask the seller for more details or confirmation.

If it says V3 1000 on the label, a Voodoo3 1000 143MHz it is then :)

Velocity 100 = 1 TMU, heatsink, 8 megs, 4 ram chips, 143 mhz, just has bios number on chip

Gateway V3-1000 = 1 TMU, heatsink, 8 megs, 4 ram chips, 143 mhz (same card and bios revision as Velocity 100 except it states V3-1000 as well on the bios chip)

Compaq V3-1000 = 2 TMU, no heatsink, 16 megs, 125 mhz, states V3-1000 on bios chip.

Finally! I have all 3 now. ;D

I can now confirm it's a Velocity 100. I just got it today and tired it out and got this!

Finally mastered my camera. Here's some raw pictures. 2mb

Correct, the bios will state Velocity 100 even though the bios revision number is the same as the Gateway "Bonesteel"

Correct

I wonder what 3dfx was trying to pull. Maybe save some money and just change the bios names? I'm looking at my gateway v3 1000 and it looks exactly the same as the Velocity 100 in everyway except for the white sticker on the bios chip.
