it seems like you can run a voodoo2 on any intel chipset with no problems,ranging from the ancient 440bx up to the latest boards for core2duo cpus.note that nforce chipsets are not compatible,they work very bad (or not at all).
as for via,I have personally tested v2SLI on many chipsets (from kt133 up to kt880),and always had stability problems on anything newer than kt266-the pc would lock up randomly when running a glide/opengl application (with the time of successfull operation ranging from instant lockup after launch up to 12hours of flawless gameplay)..
the latest ati/amd chipsets are untested as far as I know..if I get my hands on such a pc (repairs,new builds for friends/family,I get that a lot
),I'll be sure to check things out..
voodoo1 is even more picky,I was not able to succesfully operate a voodoo1 on anything newer than p3/k6,although some users have reported success with celerons over 1GHz as well..
