Title: SB100 Shade rework.
Post by Tim on 02.11.10 at 11:24:40
I got my 100SB in yesterday, unfortunately I have not had the time yet to take pictures, but on one of my shades there is a small rework. I'm just wondering who else has got that.

(That's exxe's shade btw, just for reference)

The R13 capacitor is only soldered to the lower pad, and then with a wire connected to the tantalum capacitor right next to it.

I will try to get some pictures of it on wednesday.

Umm...that's R13 RESISTOR. ::)

R = Resistor
C = Capacitor

Tried to have a look yesterday, but I can't get the shade off, on there too tight. The whole board was flexing and that's what when I said, forget it.

How did you try to get them of? By pulling them?

Try laying the board on a flat surface, put two protective parts (old creditcards) between the shade module and the main board and put a flat screwdriver between those. Then try to wiggle it loose.

They are kept in place by little plastic connectors, you need to push the two sides together then push them through, it's a right pain. Mercury brick is 10x easier lol.

Anyway, I'm not too fussed. As long as it works, it's not a prototype shade anyway I don't think.
