Title: console joypads on PC
Post by st4r4m4m4 on 13.01.06 at 01:31:50
For all those who prefer PCs over consoles, but want to have some quality joypads:
http://www.psxpad.com/index_e.php

I'm using a PSone joypad on my sistem now, a few hardware modifications (the connector obviously) and this driver and you're ready to play ;)

So far I had only a win98 version on this driver(the guy who made it quit developing it) so I wasen't able to use it on my sistem, but this japanese dude made the stuff I need and almighty google brought it to me today.

The thing works fine, supports lots of joypads and it seems to work on all games(that have the joypad feature) including force feedback 8)

no offense meant to hammerhead owners ::)

Or alternatively just buy an adapter from Lik-Sang that is better than any homebrew mods! :P

(I'm just sayin' that's all...) ::)

indeed the Keyboard is still the ultimate thing for all games especially Flight Sims I need all keys of my keyboard, a Joypad just does not have that much luxuary at all really oh my :-X.

Seems u ppl don't belong to this category :P

Sure it's not made for flight sims or fpss, I use it for various arcades and driving games so I don't need to be sitting in fornt of the table and since I'm not used to have the keyboard on my knees or something like that. (also I find much easier holding a joypad in mid air than a keyboard duh)

Don't get the wrong idea, I'm not a joypad lover but I have to admit that sometimes it comes handy.

I belive you but in my case it was faster this way (I have an electrical components store next door, and a bunch of tools by the hand) And if done good it looks (and works) far from bad.

yeah true there only when you are used using them :)

I only use keyboards and for the simulators the Joystick, and for RTS the mouse :)

for driving games the Keyboards still PWNzz :) it's because I'm not used to something else, but for others the Joypad may PWN hehe it really depends on what you are used to or not.

though 3dfx's Hammer Head is a nice design hehe

Well it took me some time to get used to it myself,

About the hammerhead, I had in plan buying one but when I tought about how clean a used joypad would be I changed my mind :P, when I find a new one at good price I will buy it for sure.
