Mac needed to test 3dfx cards.

What is the minimum spec for the PCI 5500? I want to pickup a cheap Mac to run my Mac based 3dfx cards.
Yes, I'm goofy that way.

I have a G4 400 mhz with sawtooth mobo.
I think that would be the minimum, although I'd recommend something nearer towards the 1GHZ mark.
Cheers

I'm testing hardware to make sure it works, not playing games
G3 is suppose to be minimum spec but some of the Mac nomenclature is a bit confusing as to what a G3 spec is.
I need a machine that can boot, load drivers and run a demo and nothing more.

Ahhh, okay- G3 should be fine then.
Some of the later G3 mobo's had a faster PCI slot (pre AGP). Not sure how these would interface with the voodoo card- caveat!
AFAIK, all G4 mobo's came with AGP, but no G3 boards did.

Voodoo 5500 box states-
G3 or G4
33 or 66 mhz PCI slot
OS 8.1 or higher
Questions-
Does it matter if it is a desktop or tower?
Is one case more cramped then another when it comes to testing?
Will a 5500 fit in a typical desktop case?
Will a PC keyboard work with a Mac? USB or PS/2 or something Mac only?
Is there any motherboards that should be avoided?
Lots of questions but I don't know much about Macs and willing to learn.

xlr8 your Mac (can't remember where this web site was, but it has a MAC V2 test with a couple of good shots...hang on a bit...)
[searches Google...]
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/3dfx/voodoo2.html
There ya' go!
Also has info abourt the MAC v5500...
http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/Graphics/Voodoo5_PCI/index.html
And to answer the other questions...
1. A tower case will ALWAYS have more room - whether it's MAC or PC!
2. A V5500 will 'fit' into a desktop case (my mate runs one in his desktop PC) however, you 'might' need a right angled power connector as the lid is rather close to the card...
3. I'm not too sure if a windows KB will work on a MAC due to the MAC specific keys. (seems to work the other way round though...)
4. No idea? Don't know much about MAC Mobo.'s myself? ???
Hope that's O.K.!

The Voodoo card will definately fit in a blue and white G3 tower- no problem at all as it is the same as the G4 case, just a different colour.
The Beige desktop case, I am less certain, as I have never owned one.
