..many drivers are not digitally signed, this is not an issue (just another stupid ms feature,I prefer to use the real name-bug :P).but ddraw shouldnt be disabled.have you installed the driver correctly? (see the driver readme.)

well what i did to install the driver was deleting the current driver and restart.  ran driver cleaner program and restarted again.  after the restart i installed the driver and restarted.. is this how to install a driver?

..well,after getting rid of the old driver (not sure what do you mean by deleting) you should run driversetup.exe, reboot and run setup.exe, reboot once again and that should be it..

I say,try runnig a D3D game.if it works, well, dont fix something that isnt broken ;).if you have problems when running it (errors,or wont launch at all),I would try the latest SFFT driver (extract the package,go to the device manager, find the v3,click update driver, choose instal from a specific location, point it to the folder where you extracted the driver, ignore xp moaning about driver not being certified, install, reboot, and that should be it).I dont have a voodoo3 installed right now but I will check on it personally if you continue to have that prob..

well you could try to reinstall DirectX 9.0c anew, otherwise if that doesn't help, you could try and restore [repair] the current WinXP Install, it doesn't work all of the time, but it's worth givin it a go.

And if that doesn't work then, ps47's idea would be the best thing to do.

Reïnstalling DirectX 9 won't work in several occasions.
If it doesn't work, try to reïnstall the whole operating system.

Also, don't forget to install the drivers for the motherboard herself.
If your board is fitted with a VIA chipset you should install the Via Arena Drivers.

Also, post the specifications of your PC. Be as precise as possible.
We can help much better if we know with what system you're dealing with  ;)

There used to be a 3rd party DX uninstaller available at download dot com. Might help if it's a DX problem.

And if the DirectX uninstaller which Obi-wan provided won't work you can also try DirectX Happy Uninstall V1.2  :)
