Title: Broken 5500 PCI - Anybody Repair These?
Post by chevy05 on 30.06.10 at 21:40:43
I have a 5500 PCI 5500 that will not display anything.  Fans come on but that is it.  Does anybody know of anyone that troubleshoots and repairs Voodoo cards?  I had updated the cooling fans previously and used Arctic II or III paste back then.  Maybe I did something wrong.  Would hate to have to part with it.

If it worked then it's most likely something else.

Can you supply high res pictures of front and back of the card? You might have knocked a SMD component off accidentally.

Fans work means PG-"power good".To boot system with your original Graphic card and plug V5500PCI meanwhile.if it will be recognized in OS,it means the BIOS is OK,unplug V5,use eraser to clean the gold finger, and then try to change a slot(maybe the slot's problem),the slot 1 is the best choice,I had counter a strange case similar that No.9 Imagine can't work on my S2875,but after plug and unplug several times,it's OK.if it's still nothing, maybe chip died or critical ram,or maybe the powersupply of chips fail. :-?God bless your V5!
