It looks like the last BIOS for this card is the 1.15. Am I right? Once I flash the BIOS to this one, will it remains like that even if I uninstall or remove the card, or do I need to flash it every time I "manipulate" the card?

Anybody knows where I can get the fixes and improvements of the 1.15 (as I can only find until the 1.06)?

I don't know what BIOS I had before, I just thought: "Waouh time to mess around with BIOS, yummi!" And I flashed to 1.15 (flawlessly). Yes, I also flash motherboard just like I turn my tv on... I love that... exciting... you never know your pc's never gonna work anymore  ;D

Well... ROM... read only memory... RAM... huh... well... dunno... maybe "Rwuaf and Miaouh"? No I dunno it...

Well come on I mean computers are just pieces of steel and plastic. Real things do matter more, in my opinion. But you're right, flashing my mobo and my card could've been dangerous... for them, not for me.

I really don't know the meaning of RAM. Could you tell me?

Flashing your (newer) motherboad has become quite an easy task. But when ever I've done a 3dfx card I can feel the adrenalin coursing through my veins. It's kind of like bidding on ebay at the last moment. What a rush :o

But it did just take me a few seconds!

coz i collect them...if i have enough i will make a hp with a 3dfx bios section...

V4-4500 PCI with LCD ( Bios 1.18 )
V4-2 4800 AGP ( Bios 1.05 )

So I guessed he has no interest.

on this site there is a bios from the v4-2 4000! but you cannot open it with the editor! "loading error"
so i opened it with winhex and edited the first (no idea how many) lines and deleted all the FFFFFF. now you can open the bios with the editor but it is not ready to flash it! so i need a new bios.

v4 4500 agp 1.18 bios
v4 4500 pci 1.18 bios

who will try these bios...not really...but if someone want to (no idea why) send a pm to me ;)

The v4 4500 agp 1.18 bios  is the same one I used to flash my V5 5500 AGP. It worked fine. Still said it was a V5 5500 during the Boot-up and in "Display Properties".

Chosen_One, Why not start a new thread listing all of the BIOS you have. Maybe someone out there is willing to share/trade/swap with you?

Do some benchmarks and make sure you are not running in single chip mode  :P

That was the first thing I did "Q3 timedemo" I flashed that card several time. Some of the BIOSes had modified memory timing (agressive). To be honest, I didn't see much difference.  I settled on the 1.18 just becase it was the highest I could find at the time.
