Title: Radeon Temporal AA - Win9x
Post by paulpsomiadis on 19.06.04 at 03:43:59
Okay, so it's quite easy to find out how to enable TAA on a Radeon in WinXP... ::)

The "Elite B*st*rds" homepage has a tutorial on this. :D

But does anyone know the correct Registry location to enable this in a Win9x O.S.? ???

e.g. in WinMe there are TWO possible locations... :P

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\ATI Technologies\Driver\0003\DAL

and

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\Class\DISPLAY\0002\INFO\INFO\DAL

I'm betting on the first, but I could be wrong... ::)

Anyone got this working in a Win9x O.S. yet? ???

Heh, I'll do BETTER than that! :D

Firstly, the link: -

http://www.elitebastards.com/page.php?pageid=4533

Second off, although the page explains the TWO reg keys that are required...there are actually THREE reg keys...(as discussed in Beyond3D forums) ;)

The THIRD reg key you'll need to add is to enable frame rate counting... :D

So default settings should be: -

TemporalAAMultiplier = 2
TemporalAAFrameThreshold = 60
TemporalAAFrameEnableCount = 1

Remember that a multiplier of 3 is only for REALLY high refresh rates! So I'd recommend 2 unless you own a REALLY expensive monitor, or enjoy watching your screen flicker! ::)

Also 60FPS is about the lowest you'd want temporal AA to be enabled at - any lower and it's FLICKER time again! ::)

Enough for now! :P

Enjoy! 8)

P.S. @Patience - thought you'd move this to the "This'n'That" area...oh well! ;)
