Not sure on that, I don't even know if the board works.

What a piece of equipment though! Came from Europe via a contact in the UK, I'm VERY lucky.

Nope, this board has nothing to do with 3dfx or Quantum3D.

Aside from using 3dfx chips!

This was a production board, assuming you had the (buckets of) cash.

No idea- Depends if the board works and if the applications support 3 TMU's.

I think it is sealer around a power regulator, why it is like that I dont know.

$8000-$9000 USD+ per board (if my notes were right)

I have to double check the ram chip markings, the P-I ads indicate 64 not 32 mb of ram with the SLI board attached.

Yes it certainly is...  ... If there was a 100SB 4444 it would have been 24MB

And it looks like you can strap (SLI) more cards together?

Any insight on that Gary?

You can hook 8 of them together, and a cruncher too.

The manual doesn't indicate so but it does have a connector that looks like for a floppy drive plug.

Those stand-offs look a lot like the ones on the 100DB 4440 proto-type.

Are they the same?

Site updated with pics and pdf file.

I'm testing the board now, so far not bad.

1) The board's green LED's are all lit.

2) Windows detects 2 Voodoo Graphics based devices.

Just waiting for drivers to transfer over the network...

Not sure that will work with Pirahna, but might with Barracuda.

You see a glide driver is required and both these boards run through Tempest which doesn't have a normal glide handle.

I do have glide dll's for Barracuda though.

@Gary - I'm assuming  that you had the same problem as  the Q3D stuff with Screen cap. programs... ::)

...namely that a camera picture shows ALL the detail that the card renders, whilst a screen cap. program only captures one TMU and looks crappy. :P

Then again. maybe not - I'm just assuming! :-X

Developer maybe? So far the board functions flawless.

Worked on the Barracuda board tonight, still have a bit of work to do before I try running it again. Some stuff was knocked off by the lout on Ebay.

Maybe tomorrow I'll try some more screenshots, I think I have hypersnap around here somewhere...

use IrFaNView Gary it works perfect with OpenGL, Direct3D and Glide Screenshots :)

You can ven set the gamma if pics are too dark and so on and sharpen them if needed.

I can try it but I'll stress this point again- The Piranha card doesn't use any of those API's.

No dice- Piranha works with two monitors and the program captures whatever the primary screen is showing.



I did get a nice screenshot of the Tempest control panel though.

Anyways the graphics look pretty sicko for that time of day, man glad to see you got it's runn'n and does it need Windows NT4.0 + SP6 to run or does 98SE do the job well enough?

There is none. The early glide games never used cockpit view. It's the same for all early glide games. I never knew why is that so... D3D had the cockpit view.
