I´m playing the Mafia demo with a Voodoo3 and Underground Beta4. At first there was some crashes, but when I deseabled Anti-aliasing in 3dfx Tools there was no more problems.  So I think that dealing with the Tools, if you use it you gonna fix it.
Good luck!

I have solved the problem, only I had to enable clip always in the setup of mafia. Thanks for all ;)

yes in setup.exe, in the folder where the game is installed, I have enabled:
-enable triple buffering
-enable vsync
-enable low details
-disable compressed textures
-disable true color textures and lights
-enable multipass rendering
-disable HW T&L
-enable W Bufer
-enable clip always

and, in the game I can play in high options

What is with the half-life engine? Where it is stated such a foolish thing? Anyway, Mafia is known to have compatibility problems with Voodoo's, and the sollution mostly comes from the latest drivers (Amigamerlin), and some tweaking of the games own settings, trough the main menu, before launching the game. Test as many as possible, and you should be able to run the game. Keep in mind that you can't use texture compression, TnL, 32 bit color, and other things...

Hi, I have a voodoo3 / P3@900 :P. I patched the game to v1.1 and it runs like a charm, graphical glitches gone and all ;D.
I'm using the latest "official" (1.07b) drivers, D3D version 4.13.01.0027. That driver core may be the only choice when it comes to DX8.1 games   :-* :-* :-*
