Well i was just sitting in my room, waiting for a 3dquark2000 benchmark to finish, and then it got to the large textures test.
and iv'e seen how badly the card suffers when it has to swap out textures with the system ram..
so i took it out.. and i looked at it for like 5 mins..
and i thought "*g*, i wonder what would happen if i put a few more of these [chips] in those [holes]... *evil grin*"
the next day, my scavanging began, i ran around looking for some kind of card that has the same type of ram, and luckily, i found a friend who recently upgraded his pc, and had an old gf2mx in his old one..
so i gave it a shot, and to my surprise, the ram on both cards was a perfect match, down to the week of making..
the same day, i started the soldering job, and a few days later, the hardware part was done.
then i started editing bios files, flashing, re-flashing, testing, etc'
and after some more time, it worked, the first voodoo 4500
+
was born
and it passed 3dquark2000's large texture test without a single hickup!
