nV's only Mainstream product is thier Geforce 6600 based card, so XGI & S3 arent late at all
And for a "mainstream" part it is very powerfull.
Most mainstream users have integrated graphics

well imho Mainstream Graphics refers to the Mainstream market TM30
same word same meaning lad.
Anyways still happy to see S3 and XGI in buisness @ least it's finally something else than the old same ATi or nvidia, those brands can be bored at times, same sh*t different day really.

question is how long S3 and XGI will be exist... XGI will have no chance, S3 perhaps... but only for a very very small range of customers. S3 Delta Chrome was hardly available... only one retail manufacturer in germany: Club 3D

Club3D is a dutch Company afaik.
but Power Color also had XGI and S3. I think S3 will do just fine also XGI, the most people with PC's are Asian People, and that is where S3 and XGI get most of thier proffit from.
Brands like ATi & nVidia, are not that important for budget people, they rather go for low cost and low power products and S3's S27 and XGI's 8600 cards don't use much power at all and are low cost and do perform like that of a much more expensive NV43 aka GeForce 6600 GT / R430 aka Radeon X700 based card.
So I think S3 will do fine, they have been on the market longer than ATi nor nVidia, Underdogs Like S3 & XGI don't die so quickly as many people think, I see good futures for those two.

Yep, they are both quite active and successful in the Chinese/Far Eastern market, just never managed to sell their product to Europe or USA in significant numbers.
Seeing they both had their learning curve with the Volari and DeltaChrome, Drivers aren't such a big problem anymore.
The only thing that continuously endangers their new Products are 2nd or 3rd line ATI/NVidia products that manage to outperform them at lower 2nd Hand prices off Ebay or alike...
Having had both for quite a while, I can safely say they're not bad hardware for their audience, but are still facing extreme competition they (so far) had a hard time competing with by all means.

Well was just at Micro Center and they are selling the XGI V5 for about 54.00. First time seen one of these cards for sale at all, in any store, where I live. Cheap enough that I'm almost thinking about picking it up just to see what it's like.
