I am having troubles getting Descent 2 running on Win98SE with any 3dfx patches. My computer is listed in my signature as my 3dfx PC

I'm sure I have the game installed ok with V1.2 patch and playable in Windows as well as DOS ~260 to 333 fps <----without the patch running

D2_3dfx - Only works on V1's and V2's
D2XRebirth and D2XXL make the game run REALLY SLOW ~8 to 10 fps

Anyone have any ideas?

Ok, I was reluctant to try the Interpay/Parallax D2Voodoo patch as it's one of the worst rated patches for 3dfx play, however I did install it.

When I loaded d2voodoo from the Descent 2 directory, my 2nd monitor crashed and then Win98 crashed. I had to do a hard reboot to get a working system back up again. =\

Ok, so I've given up Win98SE, now I will see how XP runs on this PC.

Most recently I've been using D2X but I think it's OpenGL not Glide.
