Q: Hi, how much is it via "Buy now"? Bye
A: I don't see no "Buy now" Button anywhere in this auction, do you?

I do it sometimes, but I state that I'm aware of the rules and placed bids, so I also make an offer a seller cant refuse that easily. We can always agreed upon "winning the auction at any cost" and paying the fix amount you offered. Sometimes the amount is bigger than the last bid, sometimes smaller - but its never too far from the amount offered and its always a matter of luck Smiley

I will never forget a guy who refused my buy-now offer for some rare SIMM RAM. In the end he only got 50% of my offer. I bet he was sorry, but I was not Cool

Another good one
I sold an ATI radeon card to a guy in London, the card worked perfectly,I know it did as I had been using it in one of my test machines,I stated that it needed a spare 4 pin molex for its power supply, the moron actually asked me if I could include the spare 4 pin molex with it  Grin

I never do it for normal Items, as there are like 50 other identical "Buy it now" offers on Ebay at the same time.
If the guy is in such a hurry, he should pick any of those offers.

Neither do I. But the problem is - this wasnt a usual ebay item you find every day. These were some 16MB SIMMs, that are extremely rare nowadays. One set of these may come up *maybe* once every 4-5 months on ebay...

Also a good one :

Auction Description reads (in bold letters) :
Used for 1 month but basically like new. Latest BIOS has been updated, just insert your CPU and you're ready to go.
Item ships with original sales receipt from May 2009, you have full warranty.

Q : dear seller, is the item okay ? ...and most important, is the original receipt included ??

First : How - on earth - can someone participate in EBay but can't read big, bold letters ? Maybe I should increase Font size even more or include an alternative Auction description for the visual impaired ?
Second : What does the description sound like ?? Like I'm selling non-functional junk, that just happens to be like new, looks brand new as well and comes with full warranty ?!

----------------
And again :
- Item already has multiple bids placed

Q : What would be your fixed price?

...Dude, that's a 7 day running auction, had I intended to make it a "Buy it Now" type sale, don't you think I would have made it one ?!
If you want to know the sales price, buy a time machine and travel to next Sunday or wait 6 days until the auction is over...
Yet another soul that did not quite comprehend how an EBay auction works.

...these folks never stop to entertain me.

Some may not like to hear this, and many already have, but eBay is what you make it.  I ask sellers all the time to make auctions BIN, when they are starting out as auctions. (First come first serve)  I also ask them very nicely to ship overseas, even though they clearly state that they won’t. (and most of the time they agree, as long as I pay for the shipping)  I have contacted many sellers about auctions that are already underway, and had them end it early. (Sometimes even re-list it as BIN)  Both parties win, I get what I want, and they think they got good money for whatever they sold.  It is really quite easy to persuade a seller to do this.  They do not get hit with eBay fees, and there is no question about how much money they may get, it is a definite amount.

Some may also not like the way I do things, and that is just too bad.    Cool

It's not the basic asking in the case of rare or old enough items that do not have other Buy-it-now offers listed that I find annoying, neither the question to ship outside of original planned regional shipping.

It's the repeated requests to violate old EBay rules that I question (asking sellers to cancel an auction that already has bids placed).

Additionally, all people I encountered just wanted to save money and strike an easy deal (as if I was in a hurry to lose money and do cheap giveaways), not few even tried to make it outside EBay.
I hate that. If they want hightech goodies, they'll have to put their purse where their desire it - or leave it if they can't afford them.

When they succeed with that on others, they may have struck one deal for themself. They'll lose one next time when someone else plays the trick on them.
In the end, IMHO nothing gained but alot lost - the trust in the working system that is being corrupted.

A classic, this is one for the all time most dumbest questions EVER asked,I'm currently selling an AMD Athlon xp 2200 cpu on ebay, this is gospel btw,I was asked if this would fit in a Pentium 4 socket 478 Motherboard, after I fell off my seat I calmly replied,no,you need a Pentium 4 socket 478 cpu, where do these people come from Shocked
