my 5500 MAC @ PC works perfect with DVI! think others would just do the same...

Does anyone else here have a Voodoo5 5500 MAC that they flashed to PC w/DVI that they gotten fully-functional?

Mainly I'm interested in the DVI port but of course full functionality means fully-functional.

fully-functional = you can connect them with an TFT via DVI and it will work?

i guess many use the 5500mac on this way....

Hmm...but you'd need a monitor with a MAC DVI connector on the cable... ::)

...or at least a MAC DVI to PC DVI adaptor to test it! :P

That is true. That even makes it more of a pain ???

??? The DVI-connector is a common DVI-connector so a common DVI-cable fits.

My VoodooMAC 5500 PCI works flawlessly with PC-BIOS with DVI-support.

Hmm... I thought they were different too. Was it the older MAC stuff that was different ???

Hmm...okay then, so how come the DVI cable I use on my Radeon - which is a NORMAL DVI cable doesn't fit in the V5500 MAC then? ???

Well? Cause it's NOT a normal DVI...that's why! ::)

DVI cables explained.

As you can see, there are several combinations of conflicting cables/ports that would not fit.

Cheers @Renner! ;D

And thus the truth is revealed... ::)

Radeon = DVI-I
V5500 MAC = DVI-D

That's all folks! ;)

Now what I need to do is get an actual DVI-D cable and try it with my V5500 Mac.  I feel like such a dummy for not remembering this earlier (saw an article about the different DVI connections about a year ago, and only remembered after reading this thread).

:-[ ::)
