Title: Keychains on Ebay
Post by gdonovan on 14.12.05 at 12:28:19
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8738237286

If anyone is intrested (and if I win for a reasonable sum) I'll sell them for $2 each (or $1.50 each if you buy 5) plus shipping.

The guys shipping for a single keychain is a joke, $14!

Wh00t. I'm interested in 5 piecs  ;D
If you have some left-overs make it 10  :P (But that's only If you have many spare ones, other 3dfx collector must have their chance too  ;))

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay
Post by Eye-Q on 14.12.05 at 20:31:38
I want 2 or 3, too. ;)
Maybe we can collect shipping to one country (e.g. germany) and the recipient distributes further so the shipping costs are not so high. :)

Yah, I'm up for one - I collect keyrings so a 3Dfx one would be sweet! 8)

Plus they look rather better quality than most crappy company keyrings out there...a pretty solid build quality - just like the GFX cards...WOOT! ;)

Shipping via first class airmail is pretty cheap, I was shipping 3-4 support brackets for only $2 to Germany.

I'm allways interested in 3dfx merchandise... ;D depending on how much postage is to aus that is, would be awesome to have one of those items!!!

Post by ps47 on 15.12.05 at 11:09:34
..I'm taking only two,the rest is for guys from http://forum.3dfx.cz/
I'm the only guy with a paypal account (and decent english ;D),so I have ended making deals and sending 3dfx stuff for many people..anyway,its gdonovans decision.right now, only 15 keychains are already gone, that makes it 40 total with the 25 I want to buy.

those 10 brackets are not for me as well ;)

Yes, at the rate of intrest I'm not sure there is enough to go around but I think the seller may have another box as he is selling singles which would imply he has more then one box.

I'll inquire about two.

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay

i think that everybody who wants to have a keychain shpuld get at least one...IMO 10 keychains are too much...

@gary: i guess you will take more than 1 or 2...so you can say how many keychains you want to have and the rest can be divided fairly...

i wanna have one piece ;)

Gary,

Are you going to try again? I saw a familar name in the bid history of the last auction (janskjaer).

I was wondering if there are any left? Some of the guys were grabbing them by the hand full. I only want one for my Mercury removable drive key. I would drill a hole in a V2 chip but I don't have any extras and want to keep the tray complete.

If not, Maybe you have an extra V2 chip I can get from you? I like those keychains just as well ;)

well if hes going to bid I'll let it go,but I certainly dont want this one slipping again ;).there is no way to tell if the seller has another box or not, this may be the last chance..

Why don't you PM Gary and see if you guys can work something out. I would hate to see the last box slip away too. I have emailed the seller but haven't gotten a reply.

Has anyone else made contact with thr seller??

That was like hardcore -20sec probably 100$ bid
and than a -10sec 95$ bid by patience

I belive u will have to raise prices/per sample

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay
Post by Thandor on 29.12.05 at 01:28:43
Well, 100 / 50 makes $ 2 each.
Some shipping costs and some money for Gary (as in 'loan'  ;D) and it would still be a good deal  8)

Ebay battle-mongering  ;D

Actually she had to bid before me or she would have had to enter a higher amount, my reserve was $101.

Good thing my shipping is cheap, might have to bump up to $2.25 each though.

darn, have to give Patience props though, who is hardcore enough to bid $95 on keychains?

:D

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay
Post by st4r4m4m4 on 29.12.05 at 01:33:00
Well speaking of price I have no problem giving even 3$ a piece.

But damn now u see how can 2 people with the same bidding tecnique end an auction.

She went the same way as you, just to make it a "safe" win.

calling me names about right now, in french.

(I state that that in no way angry terms, Patience and I have gone back and forth on Ebay in the past) Sometimes she wins, other times I do (or someone else of course)

I have the utmost respect for her as a competitor.

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay
Post by st4r4m4m4 on 29.12.05 at 01:56:11
I take this as a bit of coincidence (coicidence that it came up to 95$)

About Patience, I haven't got a chance to see her posts on this forum since I came too late, I saw only some replyes leading to some minor data about her, some quotes...
But I have seen her perform in certain auctions and I saw the effectiveness she has.

About this bidding method I used it a few times, high outbids near the end just "steal" time to the competitor, but still I haven't gotten into a situation like this... luckily

Amm on topic..

I take 3 for me and 3 for my bro, that makes a total of 6

Well the theory is you shoot high at the end in case someone else jumps in at the last 15 sec and starts running the bid up.

By going high, you cover the chance the bidder runs out of time before the price reaches your reserve.

Patience went high.. but I went higher.

I'll contact everyone when the keychains come in.

Gary

That is faster than transfering funds from your bank to your PayPal, then sending money. This can takes days.

Could be different for you guys as eBay/PayPal is a U.S. based Co. and I'm in the U.S.

Anyway, I hope this helps.

you dont need to transfer funds manually from your bank accout to your paypal account,if you have a credit card linked to your paypal account, the money will be transferred from your bank account automatically.

this should work in any country.I mean,if it works in Slovakia,it must work almost anywhere ;D

Yeah i have my credit card linked and it pays directly from that, im trying to set up direct debit from my other account at the moment and its proving difficult....

Hmm... It always give me the option, if I don't have the necessary funds, to either direct transfer or credit card. Only the priemer/business account can accept credit cards. But they also charge you (the seller) around 3%

You guys must realize that our friend Gary is going to a great deal of time and trouble for all of us on this deal. I think I speak for all of us when I say:

Thank you Gary for making this Keychain deal possible for us here at "The 3dfx Archive"

No problem guys, no problem.

If I could find a darn template for Word to print out the customs form it would make my life SO much easier.

Yes, I have to fill out a customs form even for a keychain, sheesh.

Do they make you guys go up there and open the package for them or do they open it and declare the value themselves?

I just shipped some V2 chips, 8 of them, to Germany. I declare them as a gift as we traded 8 for 8 and valued them and a dollar each. I hope they don't get held up in customs :-/

heh well to tell the truth I would like my fleet to attack them one day, those mucked up fools made me pay 80 euro's for my V6K + VV when it came, I was thinking Time To Kick Teh Post man Yo Homies!! ;D

but No it's not The Postman's Fault it's those damn Customs, I have a feeling that they do this just to earn a little extra from us innocent people.

D*amn betrayers the thieves they are hay.  >:( Yeah ps47 @ Gamma742 they suck deeply.

Yep, especially German Customs can be a pain, activities widely vary from point to point though (depends which Sector the Package arrives to).

Marking it as a gift doesn't help german customers, since that former exception was removed from the customs laws some time ago.
Now the only thing that counts is the total value of the item and the proper description of the contents.
Here it gets funny, German customs expect a double-issue of properly filled out (in german!) recepit (even for a gift... *lol*). So the contents must be preciley labeled into types of goods they can understand (e.g. used computer/PC Hardware).

Apparently, customs personell (despite accepting/checking Postage from like 250 nations) is not required to speak a single word english or any other language.

which is absurd, no wonder why we feel so light in our pocketbooks, here in Holland they are nearly the same if the item is old or new that don't count it all depends on the weight they say hahaha I was like Yii Haa Gran Paa Since when did we ever get the chance to believe that lol.

Anyways the Customs should get some attention they aren't tak'n things too seriously :-X

but anyways Gary how are your sales go'n? I hope you found a place for all items :)

I left mine sealed as is, after all it is still a sealed Olestyle 3Dfx product right ;)

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay

I broke the seal on mine! ;D

Couldn't wait to open it and check out the keychain properly... ;)

...besides, what's the use of a 'wrapped' keychain? ???

Title: Re: Keychains on Ebay
Post by Obi-Wan_Kenobi on 29.01.06 at 16:51:12
hehe got a point there Paul :)

Well it's a 3Dfx Keychain as a speciallity I can also say what's the use for a sealed Voodoo card, might as well open that make good use of it from what it still is ;)

:) The Point is it may be rare and when an item is sealed if it's a keychain, pen or even a Voodoo card it has more value :) That is I think why alot of people keep thier sealed items, well ... sealed :)

Uhm, more valuable overtime when it's wrapped.
Unwrapped it can get damaged more easily and stuff in the air (smoke, etc) can damage it also.

So keeping it wrapped is the smartest thing to do if you are a true collector.

(Pic of V3 1000)

The problem with this seller: he wants to rip off with shipping and handling costs... ::)

Some time ago I bought three cards from him (2 Velocity 100 + 1 V3 1000), the auction of the Velocitys stated 12$ flat shipping rate without any notice of extra costs for more than one article but the aution of the V3 1000 stated 12$ for the first article plus additional 10$ per extra article.
Real shipping costs: 2.35$...
